That happened to mine a few weeks ago. Soft reset wouldn't work either. I ended up pulling the battery out, put it back in and it worked.

Re: Bricked overnight

It's covered as a warranty swap so long as your phone shows no signs of water damage or excessive physical damage.

You bring the phone in, tell them what happened, they will do a physical inspection on it. Take it apart, check the mainboard for signs of water damage then "attempt" to fix it. From here they'll just issue you a replacement. They might give you some story about how they have to mail a replacement in from HQ cause they don't want to open a box that can be a potential sale for them.

From here it's up to you if you want to haggle them or just let it be.

Dude, I think you screwed. Hopefully they won't notice that you have a different ROM installed. If they don't notice, then your good. If they do

Then your in luck. I cracked the screen on my Diamond once, I took the wife's makeup and smugged it all over the screen. The Service Rep just thought I was a dirty bastard, and didn't even bother touching it.

I told him that it would not turn on after charging. The screen was broken because my daughter dropped it down the stairs, so the phone was dead anyways

Subtle hint: Burning a custom ROM is not illegal, insurance fraud is a felony offense.
