Add 4th column to program tab icon grid?
 

Hi
I have just changed from the Touch to the Touch Diamond.
I installed a Manilla 2D ROM on my Touch and was able to choose whether I wanted the grid to have 3 or 4 columns for icons in the Programs tab. Is this possible with the Touch Diamond?

Yes, it's possible. Use the same reg edit that you did on your touch. MightyROM has this feature built in.

EDIT: This is for the WM Programs menu only, not TF3D.

for the tab? that changes the wm icon size and spacing most likely.

Tobey, if the manila file that contains the XML configuration for that TAB is identified, wouldn't some XML editing be able to add the 4th column? Makes some logical sense that within the XML the spacing could be changed around and a 4th column added. Just tossing ideas in the air here.

Forget about the Mighty ROM feature. Mighty ROM has 4 columns in the normal WM programs start menu screen. If your talking about the TAB its a whole different ball game.

I am not sure if the OP was looking for this but here is the reg edit indagroove was talking about.

To add 4 icons in a row in WinMo Programs list.

In HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\
Add a New Key “IconConfig”
In there Add DWORD Value:
“HorizontalIconSpacing” Dec value=”112″
“VerticalIconSpacing” Dec value=”115″
“IconTitleFontSize” Dec value=”6″

I actually have my Diamond set to still only 3 icons in each row, however I have made the icons bigger and less spaced apart. It is more finger friendlier now. I also increased the size of my scrollbars for the same reason. Using my finger with the scrollbar in apps like File Explorer or Total Commander is now possibe. Here are the reg edits for that.

HKLM\SYSTEM\GWE\
cyHScr : Horizontal Scrollbars Height in pixels change value to 21 (default is 13)
cxVScr : Vertical Scrollbars Width in pixels change value to 21 (default is 13)

In HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\
Add a New Key “IconConfig”
In there Add DWORD Value:
“HorizontalIconSpacing” Dec value=”145″
“VerticalIconSpacing” Dec value=”140″
“IconTitleFontSize” Dec value=”10″

From what I read, the OP is looking to change TF3D Programs to 4 icons per roll.

Hi all
Thanks for your input. Bridic is right, I am trying to find a way to change the number of columns in the programs TAB on the touchflo 3D interface, not the windows mobile programs page. It would be very useful to be able to have 16 launch icons rather than 12

currenly I have 6 rows of 3 icons = 18 programs.

Sorry I meant to say i'd rather have 12 instead of 9 on display without having to scroll down!

I still have not figured this out but I was able to add more programs to the list.
I currently have 21 places for programs.

HKLM\Software\HTC\Manila\ProgramLauncher

Just add a new key to ProgramLauncher and copy the info from an existing key.

I have been asking for this since the day the Diamond came on out the Sprint network and it doesn't seem like anyone was able to figure it out.

I have enormous respect for Mighty Mike,
but as I am a complete newbie and almost completely whacked my GSM phone yesterday with his CDMA rom (because I don't understand what that means), I am staying away from those roms...
But it is incredible what people are able to get out of those phones!!!

Duh you aren't supposed to flash a CDMA phone on a GSM ROM. What carrier do you have? Look in the GSM section for a GSM ROM.

The addition of a fourth row on the M2D interface is done through the .xml of tf3d.. The easiest way to add the row is to just download and install M2D Customizer (be sure to install this onto your internal storage as it will eat at your program memory).

Hmmm, when I do this I can see the extra row of icons in manila, but when I add programs to them no icons show up and no programs launch. When I look at them in the registry they look like just like the working buttons with path etc, but they don't work. Any ideas?
