Mine doesn't smell at all, but my hot hands keep getting the black effect!!!

so i said F it... i wanted the dye gone, but i couldn't rub it or do ANYTHING to get it off...

i said heck... as of right now i have it soaking in bowl of alcohol (no not the stuff you drink, that would be a waste! :D ) and took it out after 30 mins

to my surprise, not only is the paint coming off, but the RED is coming off too.. it bubbled up and i just pealed it off... i'm not sure if this is gunna get it ALL off, but i will post pics after its all done, like tomorrow.

it is black plastic underneath, so i hope it works nice

i'll probably just spray paint mine and clear coat it.
sand it, primer, paint, clear, wet sand, clear, wet sand, wax or glaze.. wait.. this isnt a car.

damn, sorry to hear syanni

maybe just a quick dip would have done it. i've noticed that my cover "bleeds" less and less. there are areas that start to look like the red is coming through, but i have found that it's excess dye making it's way to the surface. i think i managed to get some buildup in the areas around the plastic camera lense cover.

a dip didn't do it but about 30 mins was doin it well... i left it in for 5 hours, that was just straight dumb of me:angry7:

i agree about the bleeding decreasing... really weird but i no longer really get it after that span of 2-3 days where it would bleed if i held it too long.... and plus it never bled to the point that the original red shows thru so it's fine now i guess?

i'm thinking i just didn't buff it enough after i dyed it, its not enough to make me stop using it.

i managed to pick up a 2nd OEM battery cover over the weekend for backup from a friend of mine @ the sprint store.

yeah, a dip won't do much. i didn't like how the finished looked non-uniform on mine after dying it so i figured what the hey, ill see what this black looks like under the red. i have some alcohol prep pads lying around (similar to the ones nurses use before giving you a shot) and after rubbing the cover for about 5 mins with the pads, it didn't even make it's way thru the dye. it did however make the finish more uniform so i'm just gonna leave it as is and see how long it keeps this way.
