Re: Questions from a n00b.
As far as the #2. I have used SEVEN and its like a relationship. Sometimes you love it and sometimes you want to beat the shXX out of it. So...I have come up with a plan and it works fine. SEVEN works good 75% of the time. The rest of the time is SEVEN updating their servers and it it on their side that is the problem. I set up the same email account in SEVEN under the mail, tools, new account. I labeled it Manual. So when SEVEN is not updating automatically, then i can click on Manual and download here until SEVEN gets its act together. Sometimes I have to soft reset the diamond to get SEVEN back to working. Dont know why.
But this has been my nice balance and it seems to work fine. Put one account in SEVEN Put the same account under the mail, tools, new account. hope that helps. Welcome to the club. They really are great here. |

Re: Questions from a n00b.
For the transferring of contacts did you ever try just taking it to a cell phone store? I work for sprint and we have a machine called celebrite that we hook up to the two phones to pull all the info from one and transfer it to the next.
And if your really paranoid about keeping too many programs open instead of checking the task manager ever few seconds there is a setting in the task manager program that closes programs when you press the X button in the corner. it saves a little time and battery life, |
Re: Questions from a n00b.
Thanks MOTO!! I just learned about the Celebrite today......will do that when I purchase - and how do I get to the task manager program? I like the idea of killing the program when I click the x! If a program needs to stay open, will it?
Thank you! PS Thanks Deadlygun for that great link......now what do I do with it? I'm assuming download it and open in? I sent it to myself via email and outlook won't allow me to open those things. I guess I have to long tap and say SAVE AS? Thanks!! |
Re: Questions from a n00b.
The program is already installed in the phone when it comes. All you would need to do is:
Start, Settings, touch the system tab at the bottom, select task manager, touch the button tab at the bottom, and then check the box that says "enable the 'x' button to end running programs" you can then choose whether you want them to close when you just tap the x or you can enable it to close by holding the x button. either way that you do it you can keep the program you were using in the background if you dont want to close it. instead of pressing the x to get back to the home screen you would just press the home key on the navigation pad. |
