So i guess i do need to Flash my diamond to a custom rom.
After doing that though will i need any hardware to make it work? Like a antenna or something?

Just have your headphones plugged in as they act as an antenna.

As long as the headset registry flag is set the radio will launch. This can be done from any of htc's headphones, or any regular headphones through a USB headphone adapter.
This is also the reason that the registry hack works.
