This is what amazes me the most. This must mean 1 of 2 things: a. it is not happening like some think it is happening, or b. Sprint thinks this is some sort of joke that a bunch of people on the internet have made up to waste their time.

Sprint has an entire fraud department, I cannot imagine it being so difficult to make a detailed report from one of our complaints and have them look into it. This could all be solved very easily. As I've said before, if this truly is a product of fraud, I have absolutely no problem returning my phone, I just want to figure this out before the 40 days are up for a Paypal claim.

Edit: Also, if you have a number for the Fraud Department at Asurion, could you please post it here or PM me with it? Thanks.

I talked to the Executive Services offices at Sprint (I imagine they're probably more capable to handle the direction of the issue), but they didnt seem to care. Just told me they got a call from Asurion telling them my claim was bogus, and to credit me back, which Sprint did.

I don't have a phone number, but I do have an email address (not on me at the moment since its on my work PC), but can get it later on.

Re: Diamonds on eBay

If I did indeed get my cash back I would be open arms to send it back to Asurion or if Asurion would even work it out to me to pay the same price I paid for it on Ebay I would definitely do so.

I am not in anyway trying to take advantage and double my money , I am just making sure I get my due since it is an item I did pay for.

Question Re: Diamonds on eBay

NOONE has set me straight, and NOONE has to follow what i say but I still advise to use caution. Everyone here can think for themselves on what they need to do.
I understrand completely. All I am saying is how can you keep the item and the money? I myself called Sprint about this suspected fraud 2x and the 1st time they hung up on me and the 2nd time they said don't worry this alleged fraud is impossible with their security measures.

Here is what I think is going on:

#1) Either they are turning a blind eye to this just to keep existing customers from leaving them by providing a loophole from end user to get new phones for cheap. By doing this people just like myself would not switch to AT&T for an iPhone if I can get a Diamond for $225 instead of $550 from Sprint (i have no discount). If this is true, Sprint is retaining more customers paying those huge everything plans which makes them more money in the long run especially when you keep your phone for a year or two without upgrading.

#2) They are building a big case like they did in Cali. That investigation started in 2005 for dealer fraud and arrest were made in April 2008. They need a huge figure like $1 million dollars or so and are trying to get as many people as possible (the big bosses) behind this. In the mean time Sprint does have insurance and do not take a 100% loss.

#3) Its not as big or widespread as people are believing and its just a few former/current Sprint or Asurion employees making a quick buck and not some huge fraud dealing like many are speculating. Nobody here knows 100% what is going on and are just speculating (which is fine).

I UPDATED THIS BECAUSE I AM BORED AND WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHICH NUMBER EVERYONE AGREES WITH. If you have your own theory or any concreate evidence to put our minds at ease that would be fine too. Like I said before, its all SPECULATION so don't go cursing me out or replying with STFU or noob. This is what forums are all about (discussions). If you don't agree with what's written then please state why. Seems Sprint really doesn't care to listen because they did not ask for any pertinent info such as sellers name, address etc. They may just think its a joke started online so if you call them please do not talk abot any forum because I think that raises a red flag that we (ppcgeek posters) are nut jobs still running a joke!

Re: Diamonds on eBay

I purchased my Diamond from celldep0t on eBay several weeks ago. (I put my question on this forum last week, but it was removed to "Off topic." Go figure.) Since reading these posts, I called the Sprint Fraud department and told my story. They weren't interested. They explained that the only fraud they wanted to hear about was customers getting charged for insurance claims, etc. They had no interest what was going on with eBay, and would not investigate further.

I asked about what might happen with my phone and she said that once the phone was registered with Sprint, it should not be removed. But she couldn't guarantee it when I asked. She did admit that the transaction sounded fishy. But sorry, the Fraud Department doesn't handle this type of situation.

I highly doubt it is #1, because this would really imply that Sprint is screwing their own customers by allowing this to continue, and actually perpetuating fraud of their own company. As for number 2: possibly, but I find it weird that Sprint never asked who I bought it from. 3 is most likely IMO, and you're absolutely correct, this is all speculation. I'm hoping someone soon can come up with some concrete explanation for all of this.

Re: Diamonds on eBay

Honestly, if Sprint or Asurion don't seem to care, **** them. Sprint is losing customers continuously, and if there's something to learn from this, we should leave 'em too seeing as our personal account data is not so personal anymore. I care more about the poor bastard who paid $50 for the phone I received, when he/she had no reason whatsoever to do so, their only fault being subscribing to a bunch of ****ing incompetents.

I'm just going to focus on telling eBay so they can shut down the seller, because clearly he's doing something fishy, that much is agreed upon. Besides, I think receiving a fraudulently acquired phone negates the 'clean ESN' part of the description.

Also, for those who bought from lkcarter502, what number was addressed on your box? I got 1913315xxxx (not pasting whole thing).

This is exactly what I am talking about. Sprint fraud department seems like a bunch of uneducated or misinformed indivuduals. They do not want to hear about Ebay or Paypal. They will talk to you about your phone bill and will barely listen at all. These employees are paid to argue with you over charges on your bill that they do not want to remove like text messaging that you never used but they say "yes sir its on your bill." I was out of the country once and turned my Sprint phone off for over a month. They hit me with over $1000 bill for text (which I always had text plan anyway). They told me I had to pay while they investigated. I wised up and asked them to give me 1 number I text to during that month or provide me with 1 number I called while I had the unit turned off and was in another country. They could not even find any. I asked them how much data was transfered from my phone and they admitted none. This took me 2 weeks of calling the fraud department 5 days a week (they are closed Sundays).

Sprint rather pays someone $12 an hour to try to force you to pay $1000 phone bill.

BTW after I got a credit & they added back my text plan I received another $1000 phone bill for the same thing the very following month. It was another week of calls and speaking with Indians to get a damn resolution.

SO MUCH FOR A FRAUD DEPARTMENT.
