Unlocking my AllTel Touch Diamond

First sorry as I am a total n00b to unlocking and using roms.
I've done some searchs but get really confused. Im looking to Unlock my phone so I can play with some of the roms on here. Im just worried about bricking my phone if I use the wrong unlocker.

Ive went here: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=36062
and tried that Unlockers but when I try to run it I get error: The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135). Click on OK to terminate the application."

If anyone could point me in the right direction for the right unlocker on AllTel network that would be great.

Thanks
Luke

That error has to do with .NET. If you have it installed, remove and re-download and install again.

Yes, and if you have previous versions installed, uninstall those also.

I've also tried Unlocker. I get the message ERROR 202: CONNECTION. I have no idea what to try next. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

What are you connecting to? Mac? PC?....could be the issue. Does the phone report the error or the unlocking tool on the computer?

What you can do is flash directly form the storage, which should work all you have to do is get the file into the internal storage of the device?

lastly make sure that you dont have a touch pro?

I was running the ROM updater on a PC. The phone goes in to tri-color mode and then displays a bar with 0% at the same time the PC displays the percentage bar for the update. But Active Sync immediately disconnects and then the PC displays the connection error message. Active Sync disconnecting for no apparent reason seems to be the problem, but I don't know how to trouble shoot this. Thanks for your reponse.

And make sure it's the Alltel and not Verizon Diamond.
