Loose Part?
Hey, does anyone else have a diamond that sounds like there is a loose part inside of it? The other day i set my diamond down and the top of the phone tapped the binder i put it on. I noticed that it sounded like something was loose inside when it made contact. Now when i tap the top back of the diamond by the camera or speaker something sort of clicks inside of it. Not sure exactly how to explain the sound. Does anyone else's diamond do this or is it something i should bring up with telus?

Re: Loose Part?
not that, but a good link nonetheless.
i had the same issue, never figured out what it was but had to swap mine out for other reasons and the new one doesnt have the rattling. |
Re: Loose Part?
my first diamond ordered the first week of release does not have rattling sound. I later returned and exchanged for two more. the second one has ratttling sound. I then order a third one and it has the same issue. then I found out that it is not loosing part inside but rather the power button loose.
it is the power button on top which makes this rattling sound. if you hold the power button and shake your diamond, it should be quiet. but I returned the second and third ones and keep the first one. the white color is whitter on the first one. white is yellowish on the second and third. it seems the lattest diamonds got more quality issues and not consistent. |

Re: Loose Part?
Hmm, it isn't the power button. I pressed it in an tried it out, but it still makes the rattle sound.

Re: Loose Part?
K, tried securing everything. It is not the volume buttons, the power button, the battery cover, the battery, the stylus or the face buttons. The sound comes internally from the phone. It doesn't make the sound if i shake the phone, only when tapped (like with your index finger).

Re: Loose Part?
Sorry for kicking this old topic, but did anyone ever find out what it was? Seems my one month old Diamond has the same rattle..
Thanks. |
Re: Loose Part?
I also have this problem. When i tap the back of the phone that is beside the camera a god awful rattling noise can be heard. Any insight would be helpful.

Re: Loose Part?
I'm quite sure it's no problem. I checked it with a friend, he has it too.
It seems like it's part of the autofocus mechanism, you'll hear the same click when you autofocus. Mine is still working like a charm so I think it's nothing to worry about. Hope this eases your mind a bit  |
Re: Loose Part?
Oh wow, this thread was still floating around somewhere? Been awhile since I posted this. Yeah, I took it in and all the diamonds do it, and the people at telus said it was part of the autofocus in the camera.

Re: Loose Part?
You guys are right - i just brought it in to the Telus store today and checked out 2 other phones - same deal. I guess its normal.
