sometimes i use it to navigate within an email or text. i tend to use 1 handed operation unless im emailing and dont use the stylus.

the phone doesnt have that many hardware buttons, but it would be nice if they all worked.

The keyboard isn't as much of an issue for me and I love the smaller size of the Diamond. I can't decide!!!!

I assume you're talking about the outer ring of the enter button. It works but you must press on the outer ring. I can use it to move around in opera after zooming in. It's weird though that you need to press the outer ring. the enter button is just a button, not navigational, the d-pad is the outer ring and is actually 4 buttons I guess, plus the wheel motion. a strange control. Everyone says there's not many buttons, but I count at least 13 (lucky number I guess).
1, 2 volume up, down
3 power
4 home
5 back
6 send
7 end
8, 9, 10, 11 the 4 outer ring d-pad buttons
12 enter
13 wheel (clockwise and counter could be 14)
seems like a lot to me!

The pro's d-pad ROCKS compared to the Diamonds. Much stiffer, but yet with a reflex after you push/press. Much like the Moguls. The diamond had a feel like the touch's. I use to accidentally call people when I was trying to use the left button or it would go to the home tab in TF3D. I got a pro today and returned my diamond. The pro just rocks. Might just be the most perfect phone out there. Much faster too. Dont know why, but it is. The kyboard lag is not as bad as some people are saying. Yeah it's not instant, but almost. Turn off cleartext and it's a bit faster i think.

i do miss the physical keyboard, but since Sprint is being so stingy the only way i can get a Touch Pro is if i cancel my current contract and resign the next day since the Touch Pro comes out on the 31st day of my return period. i dont know if its worth it since i will have to wait for them to return my $500 and god knows how much they will want to charge me for the Touch Pro.

btw, does your Touch Pro have that ugly burgundy backing?

those pics are the GSM models where theres a much bigger thickness difference. the Sprint versions are 15mm for the Diamond and 18mm for the Pro, so a whopping 3 mm (about the thickness of a stylus).

The Pro's back is silver, the Diamond is burgundy.

And you cant cancel a contract and sign up the next day at new customer pricing. Once you cancel you have to wait 90 days until youre considered a new customer again.

I played with a Pro at a local best buy, as I heard they had them the other day... Anyways the d-pad felt exactly the same as my diamond. Don't get me wrong, the D-Pad still blows compared to the Touch, but oh well. I felt the D-Pad on the Mogul was horrible too though...

After reading up a little on the phones, I'm leaning towards sticking with ATT and getting the pro/Fuze when it comes out.
I hope that Nov 3 date is still good as I'm getting impatient
