Where do I find the password for the ##DEBUG# mode?

I have a Telus ROM on my phone and it asks for a password to get into the field trial mode. Anyone know what the password is or where to find it?

I found the solution to the problem. The password for using ##DEBUG# is 183729 to get into the field trial mode!!

Its should be 000000 but if Telus is anything like Sprint you'll need to use GetSPC to retrieve your MSL code and thats the code you'll need for Debug mode.

That program has not worked in years. I don't know why folks keep posting it.

The more elaborate method of enabling log files didn't work either.

Thats funny because I used it to unlock my Sprint phone to put on Alltel:)

I used it today on my sprint htc touch 6900 stock rom 6.1, and it worked great...

Re: Where do I find the password for the ##DEBUG# mode?

It doesnt work that great on the diamonds. Ive tried. It works on the Mogul and Touch but not the diamonds. It works for some, not all people. I was one of them. I called tech support and asked for mine. I wrote it down so Idont need to ask for it anymore.

Re: Where do I find the password for the ##DEBUG# mode?

In the input section you put your ESN# (all caps) then hit the button and your MSL# will appear in the output section.

Juggalo X, 000000 is what Alltel and Verizon use as their MSL#. Which is also the code to get into most debug and programming menus for those companies. As for Sprint and I'm guessing Telus they program their phones with an "unknown" MSL#. Once you obtain this number you'll want to use that as the code for any of the debug or programming menus. Some people have had luck getting this from the company but most have not been able to. This program is great cuz all the info you need is your ESN# and it will give you whatever your MSL# is.

Re: Where do I find the password for the ##DEBUG# mode?

it doesnt work for me on my diamond. there is a reg tweak that involves enableing the atdlog in the registry. cant remember exactly where it is, or what exactly to do. ill search around.

Re: Where do I find the password for the ##DEBUG# mode?

Here is the trick for the Diamond. Just scroll down the the SPC area. You need to make sure you have the PPST_KeyGen.dll file on your phone in the same folder as the GetPSC.exe. This should work.

Re: Where do I find the password for the ##DEBUG# mode?

I have the mighty stable telus rom. I used QPST to set my SPC to all 0's. I can get into the EPST program mode with all 0's but it doesn't work in the debug (field test mode) password. I enterered the original spc in the box and that did nothing either.

Re: Where do I find the password for the ##DEBUG# mode?

field test has a diff password... no one knows where it is or how to get it.

nodiaque 10-20-2008 07:24 PM

Re: Where do I find the password for the ##DEBUG# mode?

I suggest you follow the guide. I just did it with stock telus and juicy roms, never had to set my spc number. Copy both file into your mobile phone, get you ESN (HEX FORMAT!), put it into input, click generate, copy output, you got your spc

njkid32 10-20-2008 08:04 PM

Re: Where do I find the password for the ##DEBUG# mode?

Is the Field Test mode the same as the Field Trial? I just went into the windows folder and could view the Field Trial without any passwords. It gives all the info needed (I would think:))....

hmmm i beleive its the same, but if u try to access via debug u get password error. wont except my SPC. and for the last time other users. i know how to get my spc and it is working lol its the debug thats rejecting it

i just tried opening it asks for a pass, rejects spc

Re: Where do I find the password for the ##DEBUG# mode?

I tried opening the field trial in the windows folder and it still asks for the password. This is ridiculous!! Why would they lock this. I had the sprint rom on this and they didn't lock it.

Re: Where do I find the password for the ##DEBUG# mode?

Hmm, thats really weird because mine doesnt ask for the password it just goes right in. It doesnt matter if I go straight to the exe in the windows folder or dial it just doesnt ask for the password.

I wonder if it has anything to do with how I unlocked and reprogrammed the phone. This was originally a Srint phone and I reprogrammed the MSL# to 000000 using QPST. The only time I get prompted for a password is when I try and go into EPST. Just weird.

Re: Where do I find the password for the ##DEBUG# mode?

This is a "Telus" thing I think. My sprint rom didn't ask for a password. It sure is nice to see how the phone is performing now. I have this phone working on a CDMA carrier that doesn't carry this phone. I have had it for 6 days now and I haven't dropped a call and have been all over the state of Wisconsin and Upper Michigan. The radio seems to be much better performing than my Touch on the same carrier.

as i suspected. the sprint radio is amped up it seems. when i tested it i got better ev speeds, the signal seems to lock stronger and no dropped calls compared to the telus stock rom. but it ate the battery so bad. any usage and it was just gone.....

now im on verizon radio :) testing
