Diamond defaulting to "internal memory," any fixes?
My (stock firmware) Diamond keeps defaulting to "internal memory" which is the 96MB of storage memory--not the 4GB of program memory. This is happening on the browser, camera (111 pictures left?!), and other applications. I went into the camera options, but the option to change where to save the pictures is an option that I apparently cannot edit.
Anyone know a fix here? |

If you hook the Diamond up to your computer, does the internal storage show up as a disk drive?
If so, I would try a hard reset. If that doesn't work, with the Diamond connected to the computer in Disk Drive mode, right click on the drive and select Format. Format the 4GB internal storage as FAT32. If your computer is freezing when you select the drive, format the disk from the command prompt (start > run > cmd.exe > format (driveletter): |

Having two available drives in the first place is a really weird decision. |

Internal storage is the name for the 4GB of storage on the Diamond...

Is your internal 4GB storage being recognized at all?

Re: Diamond defaulting to "internal memory," any fixes?
Goto /Settings/System/Memory/ and click on the "Storage Card" tab, if it says "unavailable" then you're gonna have to format it like one of the previous users stated. I'd goto Settings/System/Clear Storage and choose "Format internal storage only". After that in Settings/System/Memory/Storage Card tab, It should say "Total storage card memory: 3832.50 MB" and a drop down menu with "Internal Storage" as the only choice.

I selected to format the internal storage only.
"The Mass Storage cannot be accessed." |
Re: Diamond defaulting to "internal memory," any fixes?
The worst part is that I bought this from JBC Nextel on eBay--so Sprint will most likely not replace my phone, and HTC will give me the runaround.

Did you format the internal storage from the command prompt?
I had this exact same issue (not with camera, but with internal storage not being recognized), and I had to connect it to my PC in disk drive mode, open command prompt and format the drive. |

You may have to take your phone back to your carrier to get it replaced.

Re: Diamond defaulting to "internal memory," any fixes?
As I bought it from a seller on eBay, that option probably will not be available. I'm going to call up HTC and see if they can provide a RMA--if not, I'll have to get in contact with the reseller on eBay.

When I took the phone to work today (was going to go to Sprint tomorrow), the phone went through the "hands free activation" again and now the camera says it can take 8,000 pictures.
