Battery Fix Cab For Those Who Need It.

1 Attachment(s)
Here is a cab I made from info found here to fix the horrible battery life. Thought I would make my own thread to make it easier to find.

Thanks. Can you list what changes are in this cab?

I wanted to share with you, what I believe to be the source to the better battery life on my 2.4.X Roms.

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\Battery]
"PollInterval"=dword:4E20

I've shared the fix with Ghetto, and he has confirmed, and will likely incorporate the reg into future iterations of the kitchen.

Original credit goes to DCD (XDA) as I noticed this was a registry from his old Titan Kitchen.

-Juicy

The fix stated above merely in a simple cab install.

Big help on my phone. Standby mode does not drain a bar an hour or worse like it did last week.

I'm trying to manually enter this hack in my registry. When I enter '4E20' in the DWORD field, I get an error that I cannot enter letters and only numbers.

Am I doing anything wrong?

Is the DWORD is 4E20?

Thx

EDIT: Nevermind, I found what I was doing wrong. Thx

heh...the reg hack program I use is a basic freeware app. Its not as easy as resco or anything. In order to change from Dec to Hex I had to go into the menu-settings option to figure it out.

Sorry for the newb question. Do I just install the cab file and that's it? Or do I need to do anything such as turning off TF3D or do a soft reset, etc? Thanks for the help. Hoping this fix will improve my battery life too! :)

What exactly does this change to make the battery performance better? I installed it on Juicy's 2.4 ROM.

its included in juicy 2.4+ and it slows down the rate at which the device polls the battery for its status. there for saving battery because before hand it was constant. or so it seemed.

I have seen a noticable change in my battery life today and so far I am very impressed.

Figures. I made the change manually yesterday and soft-reset (verified it's 20000 decimal), and battery life today is worse than ever before. Talked on phone no more than 20 minutes, played teeter for 10, gmail imap polling is only once per hour, and I'm down to 2 bars on the battery (came off the charger at 8am on the dot, it's now just before 3pm). Installed SensorLock yesterday, wonder if that has anything to do with it...

i think that stylus lock would be better as it doesn't poll it just works when the remove stylus event occurs.

I'm also finding much worse battery life after installing this yesterday. I did not have any problem making it through the workday on a full charge, but today it ran out of power much sooner than normal. I haven't installed anything else nor have I used the phone any more than previous days.

Any suggestions?
