A simple search on this site yields this cab for download. It works on the Diamond.

This is the third java app that hasnt worked for me on my diamond. When I run the file itself, jbed.exe, I get a flash of the java coffee cup, it says esmertec, then a white screen. If I click on a JAd file, a screen comes up that says the name of the jad file with an option to pause or kill in the softkeys, or sometimes it just closes on its own. The only one Ive had sort of work was a cab called " its right jeodek.cab", but that one was slow and pretty buggy. Im using juicys rom 2.4.1.

Thanks man, I actually had that one, and I forgot, it worked almost perfect! Except the left and right softkeys are soooooo small that its almost unusable. The "its right jeodek.cab" actually used the default wm softkeys, but like I said before it was buggy. Is there anyway to use the one you posted but change the softkeys to be bigger?

Odd, I tried the newer build before trying the one I linked to, and the newer one didn't work properly on my phone. The one I linked to worked, but everything displayed so small because of the VGA screen. I'm using the stock Sprint rom, so maybe that's the difference.

weird how one thing works for one guy and its a different version that works for someone else.

it probably has to do with the fact that juicy is based on telus.

let me know if you have problems.

Do these versions of java actually DISPLAY correctly on the Diamond? I used one release (no idea which it was) awhile back, and both gmail and opera mini were so small it was almost impossible to use. There was another release somewhere on here that supposidly made the fonts bigger, but I gave up on it, unless of course these java packs fix that issue?

Ok. Tried this, displays fine, problem now is that gmail app doesn't save my password, and asks for it everytime I login, or even CLICK on a message to read.

OK finnaly i found this java VM, no problem running opera mini and gmail 2.0 (saves password) but had no luck launching google maps 'street view'....

also like many other java VM's it asks for internet permission before every launch - there is a work around for it.
in opera mini some pages displays the fonts to big. (small is to small) otherwise i got no problem

This java works and scrolls much better than the Jbed+vga one.

I only use it for OperaMini though. I do have one nagging problem where I leave operamini in background and sometimes if I come back to it after a few hours, operamini can't browse anymore due to loss of network connection. I need to exit operamini and restart it and everything is fine again.

But it's well worth it for the improved performance.

yea, i remember getting some error messages after a couple of days, (low memory...etchttp://forum.ppcgeeks.com/images/icons/icon9.gif) jbed_vga is so far the most stable java vm for the diamond.
