Problem with Sprint Picture Mail
Whenever i go to the mail tab and open up picture mail and click on new message nothing happens. When i first got the phone it worked fine with the stock rom. I upgraded to Juicy's 2.2 rom and then went back to Stock and i have been having this issue ever since. Has anyone else had this problem?? Help would be greatly appreciated. i'm think about just hard reseting the phone and seeing what happens but i would like to avoid this because i would hate to restore all of my settings and programs

Re: Problem with Sprint Picture Mail
I can't get my picture mail working on jucy's 2.2. Installed cab, but when I open the picture mail in messaging it just opens a new mail message on the picture mail email as if I were using gmail or hotmail. When I had stock rom opening the picture mail would open its own app thats nothing like regular email.

Re: Problem with Sprint Picture Mail
I also have the Touch Pro and have found Sprint Picture Mail to be useless. Pictures often don't send and when they do send people do not receive them. I calles CS and they told me there was no problem with their servers. They opened a ticket for the issue and then when nothing else worked they told me there is a nationwide "outage" with Picture Mail. They stated they will reimburse customers who experience Picture Mail problems from the time they report them until the time it is resolved. Why did Sprint screw up an otherwise fine way to send picture messages (MMS).
I have tried sMMS app but you have to keep it running at all times. If anyone has found a way to get the original Picture Mail application working please let me know! |

Did you sign up for your plan before or after simply everything plans came into effect aka mid-late June 2008??? The reason I'm asking is, because pic mail used to be included with data, where as now its included with messaging. I'm thinking people on older plans still have it attached to their data and not attached to messaging. |
Re: Problem with Sprint Picture Mail
Hey, I just called Sprint tech support and had them drop my plan and re add it (I'm on sero and nothing got screwed up). 20 minutes later, the guy sent updates to my phone and picture mail is now properly coming through my pic mail inbox, not texts.
If you're on a regular non-sero plan, just tell them to drop and add pic mail. If you're on sero, explain all this to them and ask for the to drop and readd your plan via account services. The guy seemed completely familiar with the problem, and did all the talking with account services while I was on hold. Like I mentioned in the above post, older plans had pic mail as data, whereas now its part of messaging. In order for picmail to be working for people who have older plans, picmail has to be part of messaging, not data. Goodluck :) |
Re: Problem with Sprint Picture Mail
I also have the touch pro and can not get picture mail to work properly. I talked with tech support and even went into a sprint store and I still can not get sprint picture mail to work. Some pics will go, other won't, and many take hours to send. I was told that it is a network problem. I advise sprint that i had no problem using the SMMS program. Therefore, I installed the SMMS program on my touch pro and I have no problem sending picture mail. My mail goes right away. However, if I try to send the same piture using sprint picture mail, there is a problem. Any soluntions out there

Re: Problem with Sprint Picture Mail
I'm not on sero but I'm trying the drop/re-ad. Only thing is I wasn't receiving at all it wasn't a matter of wrong format. I still think its a problem with Sprint's end since it started after the release of the other picmail software late last week.
I did a hard reset last night and at one point I recieved 2 pics.... but that was it. |

Re: Problem with Sprint Picture Mail
I am currently using the updated .cab file from Sprint Powerdeck. This update made no difference for receiving/sending pic mail but only changed the notifications. I also did a hard reset back to factory and this made no difference with pic mail.. Text messaging works great and no web/internet problems whatsoever. The problem seems to lie with Sprints Picture Mail website as I find pictures that do get sent just sit on the server.

Re: Problem with Sprint Picture Mail
When you call in go to Tech Support and tell them they need to reprovision the phone for picmail to work. That's what I did. It wouldn't work right away for me and the tech got pretty frustrated, but by the next morning, my pic mail was working. It's almost like once they reprovision the sprint system had to go through a reset process before it became active. Since doing this, I've had no more problems other than sometimes it can be slow.

Re: Problem with Sprint Picture Mail
I'm having my own Picture Mail issues on the stock ROM.
Any PM I send usually says "Sending" for a long time. I often have to try to send another to get the first one to actually send, but then the second one stays at "Sending." |

Re: Problem with Sprint Picture Mail
Since I have the everything plan can they simply remove/add picmail singularly? The gal I had on the phone couldn't do it, she said she took my plan off and put it back on but never asked me to do anything to my phone I did a update via the phone myself.. of course it came back saying there wasn't any. I also did a restore to my epst and then reupdated and tried changing my picmail password (just in case LOL). Nada. I'll call again and see if I can get something else going. This is frustrating!

Re: Problem with Sprint Picture Mail
Okay people, so after MANY calls to Sprint customer service, I finally have my picture mail working perfectly and sending and receiving in merely a minute or so rather than hours. I have made calls to Sprint and had them reprovision my data, plan, etc... They had me change settings, clear cookies, internet history, cache, etc. Nothing worked. This one setting finally seemed to work and now all is well.....I have the HTC Touch Pro so if you have the same problem, go into Camera->Advanced->Quality. This MUST be set to BASIC! After hours and hours of painstaking try's it is the only way to send your picture mail to other companies. Verizon limits their incoming photo's to 500kb. AT&T limited to 300kb. If your pictures are over this size, your wasting your and they may go through, but the other person will most likely not get them or get them hours or days later. I have found this to be working flawlessly now after changing that one setting. Please post if this worked for you!

Re: Problem with Sprint Picture Mail
You shouldn't have to shoot in basic mode, just send in basic mode. If you go to Pictures and Videos from the real Windows Programs. Start Menu>Programs>Pictures & Videos. Then select Menu>Tools>Options to selection what size to send the files to other services. How large you can send will ususally depend on what service you're sending to.

Re: Problem with Sprint Picture Mail
I had an issue with picture mail, but it turned out it was because I installed 3.5 net using the msi and when i uninstalled and installed through the cab, everything worked fine. weird to say the least.

Re: Problem with Sprint Picture Mail
What they did for me throughout my battle with the PictureMail service was making sure that #1: You have downloaded the latest PictureMail.cab from Sprint Powerdeck. Once this is done, they had me enter ##3282# and then enter the password (I beleive each phone has a differnent pass code [Sprint CS will have this]) Once entered, I had to edit my data profile, and then click ok to reprovision the phone. This did not help though. For me the final step Sprint took was they had me enter ##596378# and click edit, then delete and retype the two numbers listed. Once done, I hit okay and reset the phone. That coupled with changing the camera setting has proven to be the total fix for me for picture mail. I can send and receive with no problems.

Re: Problem with Sprint Picture Mail
##596378# gets me nothing.
good response though. weird how an application could cause this to not work. |
Re: Problem with Sprint Picture Mail
I had probs with pic mail when I had Juicy rom on diamond...then I went and installed a more stock sprint rom on it and it worked again. I even installed the picmail app and update on juicy rom. It would work about 10% of the time. I went back to juicy again because I couldnt change the clock and such from the other rom for some reason....and now it doesnt work again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Problem with Sprint Picture Mail
##[yourMSLhere]# gives you the EPST editing mode for MDN and MSID. Obviously the numbers will be different for everyone.
They had me do that to activate the phone. I didn't realize the numbers were the MSL until a few days later when I went in and dug out the MSL from that log file trick. |
Re: Problem with Sprint Picture Mail
I got it working on both my Diamond and my friend's Pro after uninstalling Net3.5 and Picmail...
