I just went to live chat on sprint.com and asked for my MSL and she asked if I am activating a phone? I said no. She asked then why do I want it. I said cause its my phone and I want it, am I not allowed to have it? then she gave it to me. lol.
that was easier than all those programs that supposedly get it for you that didnt work for me.

Yes, it polls the towers more often. At the default setting of 2 your phone will poll about every 2.5 seconds. At 0 it will poll about every 1 second.

I have never noticed any noticable change in battery longevity when doing this now or in the past (on both of my HTC Touchs and also my Mogul).

Technically, I would think it would help you from missing calls because you are registering the call quicker, so therefore the phone will ring quicker, and therefore you miss less calls.

I had the same problem using mp3s as ringtones. In my case it turned out that it only occurred when the ringtone was on my memory card and not on my phones internal memory.

Thanks guys, I'll get my MSL from Sprint and give this a go and report back. FWIW, I'm using system ringtones for now that in the \Windows folder, nothing from Internal Storage.

Any solution for us Telus users? There is definitely a delay on incoming calls....about 2 whole rings before my Diamond starts making any noise.

I have the same problem. Sometimes the ring flashes and the incoming call screen shows up, but the answer button doesn''t work at all, I have to watch it goes to the voice mail after a while. The signal is strong, the battery is more than 50%.](*,) Any solutions for the Telus users?

I made a thread over at XDA since I had the same problem. I got this solution that seems to be working for me.

I tried that. I changed it from 3000 to 0. I'm not sure if that helped or not. There is still a delay but it is just one ring of delay. Before it may have been more like 1 1/2 to 2 rings. I would have to set it back to 3000 and retest to see if that helped.

I made both these edits, waited a couple minutes to soft reset etc but it seemed to make no difference whatsoever in the time it takes to start ringing That seems to make sense since those entries seem to address the time it takes to hang up or answer AFTER it starts ringing. The original problem is that it takes forever to start ringing in the first place.

Will also try setting the polling time lower and report back after.
