How hard is it going to be for us to go from Diamond to Pro??

I got the $200 instant off, and the MIR....will they just let me return the phone and go back to my Touch until the Pro comes out....and then give me the discounts all over again??

I'm still undecided on if I'm gonna go to the Pro or not, but the more I use this phone...the more I want a keyboard. Plus the back of the pro looks awesome with the silver.

My understanding is that you pay the difference. If you got discounts, they apply to the new one. Theoretically, most people should only have to pay $50.

This is not true through Sprint. Since the Pro doesnt come out within 30 days of the Diamond, they will get zero discounts. You only have 30 days to exchange and when the Pro is released he will be outside of his 30 day exchange period.

If he just bought it he would be within the 30 days. Pro comes out on the 19th so its only 21 days til release.

Interesting. If thats true, then yes he could. Only thing is, I manage a Sprint store and my product list shows BOL (beginning of life) as November. I hope you're right otherwise he is SOL.

Does anyone know if the 30 day period starts when you provision (setup) the Diamond or is it when you recieved the device or is it when you contacted Sprint to purchase/eschange your old device?

i'll be getting my Diamond tomorrow and will be within the 30 day period so i most likely be giving the Touch Pro a shot when it comes out. I really like the Diamond but i dont know if i will miss the keyboard like my Mogul.

Thanks for the info Jason...Blazin Asian- you might want to wait until Thursday to activate in case the pro comes out on Nov 1st (that would be 30 days).

Hey guys,

Just wondering I am a current spring customer, I have a mogul/titan and want to move to the Touch Pro, how much do you think I'd have to pay and are there any discounts available. Sprint is telling me I would get a $50 rebate off the full MSRP price which is like $5xx. I hope that's not what I really have to pay...

Even if the Pro got delayed, couldn't we just return the Diamond under 30 days, get our money back and purchase the Pro when its released??

I've had my diamond 9 days now and I really like it. I was holding my Mogul and Apache yesterday and just wonder how I ever did it. They feel so gigantic in comparison, I am starting to not miss the keyboard but I"m within a 30 day window so I am thinking of returning it for the pro

the touch pro is the same size as the mogul i believe. just a helluva lot faster lol

Blazin Asian- I also heard the 16th or 19th but in the past sprint has not met release dates and they may be thinking lets wait so the new diamond owners are past there 30 days. As the other poster said you could return it if you purchased it but unless you have a backup you would be waiting for release date.

I just spoke with Sprint customer service. I'm taking my Diamond back to the Sprint store tomorrow and putting my Touch back on my account. They'll credit my account for the price...and then i can call telesales when the Pro is released and still get the $200 instant rebate.

I really love the Diamond, but going without a keyboard this long is driving me crazy, and if I'm gonna pay this much for a phone, i'm going to truly UPGRADE...

I'm with you. I had an HTC Apache (Verizon VX6700) and now have a Touch Diamond. The Apache is SO much bigger! I thought I wasn't going to be able to get by without a physical keyboard, but I'm doing just fine using the compact QWERTY and T9.

Was originally going to swap my Diamond for a Pro, btu I'm thinking I am going to stick with the Diamond.

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!!

I just got my DIAMOND and I cannot look away from the screen! It is SOOOO much smoother than the touch!!!

The keyboard responsiveness is even ton times better. I was holding out for the pro... but to be honest, not sure if I want to re-enter the fatty world!

I urge those people on the fense... GET THE DIAMOND! IT ROCKS!

Playbook came out today. The Touch Pro was not on the list for 10/19. It has 6 devices launching on the 16th, the pro was not included in this list.

put my diamond next to my mogul and its not that much of a difference. just a smaller footprint. im sure the touch pro wont be that bad of an upgrade :)

I like it alright, it's just so darn buggy....and the battery sucks so much ***...

yes, the battery does suck. i believe the Touch Pro is advertised with 8 hours of talk time?

I don't meant to be cynical, really. I'm happy with Sprint overall and I love the Diamond. But I don't believe for one second that the pro will come out on it's scheduled date. The Diamond didn't. It was supposed to be out on 9-2. Plus, is it just possible that Sprint will want to wait a little bit because of the 30 day issue? Maybe not. Maybe that's just me seeing the dark side.

I have the Diamond but have already been guarenteed a Touch Pro when it launces so, I'm not really worried about it! when they ship the pro I will still have the diamond so, I will compare & decide after I have them together side-by-side and in the palm of my hands!
