Wow, the beta is awesome. It even lets you sync your GMail contacts. Not that I need to.. But my phone and computer could blow up simultaneously, and I could still have a backup now =)

I would like to access my email as if I were on gmail.com, but the best I can think of is set my homepage on iGoogle. This is what I did on my last phone, the Touch, but with the beautiful TouchFlo 3D, I don't want to do the same with my Diamond.

What should I do? What do you guys do for email?

In settings you can choose to only download today's messages. That would prevent it from downloading all the old messages. Have you tried that, or do you want to be able to find info from any of the older messages from your phone as well?

The java client works great on the Diamond! I use it every day. The only problem is that it's not made for such a high resolution screen, so all of the text is tiny, but still completely legible. The easy way to install both jbed and the Gmail app at once is to use this:

It will also install Opera Mini, but that's not such a bad thing, and it can be uninstalled if you really don't want it!
