4-way Navigation button

Does the diamond have this? It seems like only a center click. Its really difficult to get to any other direction. Or do I have a funky one?

Sprint Diamond btw

You're right, the center button only does one thing, click. But look closer at the raised 'bump' outside of that...on some apps, you can move finger around to navigate like ipod <sic>. :)

The direction buttons are outside the center button under the raised ring. Hope this helps.

You can also push around the raised bump to go up/down/left/right.

Re: 4-way Navigation button

wow, I see what you all are saying. However, it seems that I can hit outside the circle and still go up/down/left/right.

The same goes for the home/<--/call/hangup buttons. They seem to be a little touchy sometimes, especially the hangup button. When I go to hit it, it seems to hit the arrow key above.

Anybody else have this issue?

The ring can be pushed for direction but you hit the other buttons sometime

The design was a deliberate one by HTC to cripple any chance of playing games on the directional pad. If you have followed windows mobile devices since the iPaq days (I have), every single one of them has had issues with the DPad..... from not being able to sense two key presses, to poor or non-available diagonals, to the current silly raised ring (great for scrolling) with mushy vague directional controls.

After seeing someone playing a racing game on the iPhone with the tilt sensor, I might hold out to see if games come or just return the phone and move back to the Mogul.

I never use the directional controls anyways so it is no bother to me that they are not that great.

The capacitive pad at the bottom has been shown to accept multiple inputs...
