Sync constacts without Outlook
 

I dont have MS Office or Outlook installed and i dont have time to find the cd for it is there another way i can sync contacts off my phone>?

to ur pc? no i dont think so. you need outlook.

Set up a DashWire account. Cloud based backup of contacts, email, SMS, voicemail, pics, bookmarks

Or any number of other services. Google for syncworld - that will get stuff over to google - or funambol, which is the client you use with syncworld or the funambol site.

but this isnt backing up to you PC like he asked its backing up to a web service is it not.

the best and easiest way for me was to do it thru microsoft windows. all you really need is a hotmail email account. just go to programs>windows live. sign in and one of the options is that it will ask to snyc all of your contacts. so it will back up your contacts for you. since i just switched from the touch to the diamond all i had to do to get my contacts back was to sign into windows live and all of my contacts were on my new phone in a min or so (less).

Yep, it's backing it up in the cloud. Which is, to some people, even better then backup to a PC. But the main point is there are a lot of options that DON'T need outlook

Another option that I use is called NuevaSync - its a free OTA Exchange based gateway to your GMail/Google Calendar. Right now it can only sync contacts from GMail (or Plaxo), but they are working on Direct Push for e-mail. It also syncs calendar items if you have a Google Calendar. I need to get my contacts off of my verizon 700w(with no data service). Since the diamond doesn't have an ir port, would outlook be the easiest way to switch my contacts over?
