Can't do initial setup on Sprint Diamond
 

When I first turn my phone on I get the green screen saying "tap the screen to set up your device". When I tap, I get the align screen but tapping on the crosshairs does absolutely nothing. I've tried resetting the phone and doing it again but it will not align the screen. Help???

you will have to call to activate the phone...at least that is what I had to do.

I have been waiting 2.5 hours waiting for the data to activate, so I can play with all the features.

Call or do it online. Thats what I did. Went online and activate it thru my account.

I think he's talking about just setting up teh alignment with the stylus. I had the same problem too. It eventually unfroze, give it a second to catch up.

Also to those of you who had to call and activate your phone, you still have to call and have the ESN put on your account. But the hands free activation will do the rest for you once you do that (first).

I am going to call them back to discuss the ESN.

Edit: Was told that the ESN was already on my account.

I tried over and over to get the alignment done with no luck. I drove to a Sprint repair center a few minutes away from my house and it worked on the first try.

That is how things usually work.

You can't get it to work but when you take it somewhere to be looked at, BAM!! it works.

im haveing the same probelm, i cannot get past the aligning part, i tap the center several times and it wont budge!

Make sure you press with a decent amount of force, that is one thing that I noticed about this phone vs. the touch, you need to apply some force to align that screen
