Re: Major problem with Internal Storage on HTC Diamond
Ok, here is what worked for me.
Hard reset - Connect to PC, Once connected as a USB Drive, VERY IMPORTANT - Don't try to open drive, only right click. Choose Format, FAT32, Quick Format. It took about 5 seconds, then soft reset and it is up right now... We will see. |

The advice above is correct. You just have to try it a dozen times due to computer freeze up. |

Re: Major problem with Internal Storage on HTC Diamond
Can't believe HTC would have such an issue with the Sprint Diamond. I also can no longer see the 4GB storage card. I've tried a hard reset, format the internal storage card, etc., with no luck. I also tried right clicking the drive when it showed on in My Computer, but format the drive never showed up. I have reset the device using the clear storage and format the internal storage card, is this the correct alternate or main method to accomplish a hard reset?
By the way, when I first connected the phone to my and selected device storage, my pc stated that the device didn't install correctly and was not recognized. I was using a USB cable that worked with my Sprint Touch, GSM Touch, and an AT&T Tilt with no issues. I did have to deselect the advanced USB connection box for activesync to work. Getting back to the Sprint Touch Diamond, I was able to sync and transfer music files via the supplied USB cable only. I wonder if that was the cause? The 4GB storage disappeared after transferring music to the 4GB storage area. What are your thoughts? GP |
Re: Major problem with Internal Storage on HTC Diamond
LOL - Ok so I gave up planned on getting a new phone. Battery died at work so about 5 minutes ago I plugged it into usb on computer just to charge it.
After a few minutes I got a phone call on phone, answered it and hung up the call. Screen pops up on windows saying it needs to format the e: before use. I figure wth its 4:07 and beer is right around the corner.... It worked!!!! OMG Dare I try and resync music now ..... of course but only after a few beers! Thanks guys...persistence is the solution. I still think its a ROM problem....something software wise is causing this... |
