For those of you who have been asking, here is a phone condom that will cover up the red back that everyone seems to have a problem with (not that I do, I think it looks kind of good).

I had one of those cases on my touch, when the phone falls, the case goes in every which direction. The don't stay on well

Damn it - I misread this - I thought this was a replacement back cover, not a case/condom. If anyone finds a replacement rear cover that comes in black like the telus please post.

Ok, call me crazy but I paid over $600 for my sprint diamond (I'm in the middle of my contract) but to be honest... I really dont like the fact that its red. I would really prefer that the back be black. (like the rest of the phone)

So... Here is my questions;

Who thinks/knows that either sprint htc or some third party accessory manufactures will make replacement battery doors in black or other colors?

Also, who else feels like I do? Am I the only person who is not a fan of the red back on the Sprint diamond? To me It looks cheap!

(FYI... I ordered mine at 1am pst. thats California time and I'm still waiting on my confirmation number)

There's a lot of posts on bashing the red back. Personally, I like it. However most people wont, I'm sure someone (3d party source) will release a different back, if not, try getting the Telus back.

You could call Telus and see if you could order a black one or contact HTC sales directly off their website and see if they have the black or any other color available yet. (this is what I did with the cdma touch when it came out and they had gray, teal, white and black replacements)

P.S. Further thought would be that Sprint wants the Diamond to stand out so other people notice something different, other than just ignore another black phone and actually inquire about it.. Colored condoms/cases just seem to bulk up an otherwise sleek phone IMHO.

This argument has been beaten to death in these forums already. I doubt anyone wants to go over it again, sorry. The fact is though even if you change the back, at the bottom where the mini usb port is has red and it can't be removed. You would end up with a black Diamond with red around the charger port. Also the stylus itself has a red tip, so you would have to buy a new one as well.

As far as it looking cheap, I don't think you should judge before seeing it in person. If you hate the color so much why did you pay over $600 for it?

those "condoms" don't work well. plus they put an edge around the screen, thats why i left my mogul, why would i want that again ya know?

I ordered one in spite of the red. If I don't like the red, will order a Telus back and stylus, and use black touchup paint on the USB port area. No biggie.

Not to hijack the thread, but I just found out that I may have access to an injection molder. If I am able to make battery covers in different colors, would poeple be interested in purchasing them?

Well the red was a terrible design choice on Sprint's part.

The seriously FAILED this time.

I'd love to have my Diamond to do it to! :)

Haven't yet seen anyone report availability of a back or stylus from Telus, but I'm sure it will come sooner or later.

I'm assuming that a Telus back will fit a Sprint phone - it's a reasonable assumption, but it is an assumption. If not, will take it to a graphics shop and get it painted.

Ok, so earlier this morning I posted a thread about how I'm not a big fan of the red battery door on the sprint Diamond Well... I found a black diamond door on ebay for about $30 bucks. I'm gonna wait until I get my diamond in the mail then see if its worth it to spend $30 for a nice battery door.

A few people said they would order it from telus but hey... whatever floats your boat.

accessories are delayed because of ike, guy at sprint(teck. support not sales)said probly when phones are delivered to stores, so will accessories. at least a week. hang in there.

I was out at one of our retail store today and one of the sales rep had one, it's not really red it's burgundy it's kind of pretty I think I'll by one and I don't even like the color red.

Hi there, I see a lot pf Sprint people wanting a telus back. I actually have 2 telus diamonds, one for the wife and myself, and it is confusing to see which is which when turned off. I wouldn't mind exchanging the telus one for sprint as long as there are no scratches etc. My wife's phone is 3 days old. This way I will be able to tell them apart.
