Just got my Diamond, trying to QPST need help
 
my Diamond has an MEID not an ESN so how do i get my SPL code from get SPC im not a n00b to all of this so u can talk nerdy to me.

Is this Diamond released by Sprint? How do you like it? Any pro and con's?

i heard the Sprint diamond is going to be crippled. but not as bad as VZW

It's the same thing... When you plug it into QPST, dial ##DIAG SEND or ##DIAG# a program called DMRouter should open showing you some numbers, then it'll ask to install drivers, then you should right click on the globe, add port, should be the Diagnostic port listed, then goto service programming and your device should be listed, and it shows your ESN in Hex there.

ok so QPST will show an esn still? even though this Diamond has a MEID? just want to be clear.

random surfing heard they did the same as telus and disabled the gps and such.

take everything you read on the internet with a grain of salt tho...

I dont plan on switching Providers with this device so its Telus hand set with Telus software on it.

out of curiosity, how did you get your phone? order online? walk into a store?
The place in toronto someone was going to pick one up from for me is out of stock unfortunately :(

they had 6 units in stock at my local store. so i went to work bricked my s640 and traded up.

Have you tried the GPS without hacking around on it? Maybe do a hardreset first, then try it. I've had Google Maps and Garmin XT running fine on my Telus Diamond, with no QPST edits required.

Tillsonburg, Ontario is where i went by i called and the girl said they had 6 still in stock. she said her manager ordered a bunch because allot of people were asking about them.

yah i saw your post so the first thing i installed was google maps and my tom tom. both failed to connect. so i qpst'd the device input the settings and installed the gps registry cab. still couldnt get it to connect. then i got side tracked at work for about 45 min and came back to it and did a soft reset, after that it connected after about 45-60 sec every time.

I had a P4000 ... HAD a P4000.. it is for sale now.. I am doing the HTC Diamond on Telus.... it is sold out everywhere in lowermainland.... I got mine from Telus Retentsion... they have 1 referb one so I took.... nothing wrong with it... just someone used it and returned as didn't like it... someone elses lose, my gain ;)
now to work on the GPS...
