The advocate phone comes activated on a line already and isn't received into inventory. There is no "extra" random phone coming. It's direct ship only on the 14th. Stores will get them MAYBE on the 28th, if inventory allows for it.
Your buddy is telling you this just to shut you up so you leave him alone for a few weeks.
Not to even mention the fact that the only way an employee could buy a phone in a store is for full retail price, with a 25% discount. Which is stupid because employees have multiple ways of getting the phone for new customer price, sometimes without having to mail in a rebate.
(If you can't tell, I work for Sprint. I also happen to be a Diamond advocate)
They don't send phones to stores for "which ever employee wants to buy it". In my 5 years with Sprint, I've never seen an employee pay full retail price for a phone in store, over waiting maybe 3 days to order it for the new customer price.
