It's Carrier dependant. There are/will be several versions for just about every carrier. To get a taste of what is out and what's to come, you can visit this site; http://www.pdadb.net/ and search for diamond. -CC

Re: Diamond Release Speculation Thread
ok, wtf. i was on the phone w/ telesales at 9:50 this morning. I said "i'd like to order the touch diamond." the guy (adam) says "ok sir, it looks like you're eligible for an upgrade to the touch diamond, let's get that taken care of for you." he put me on hold, came back on and said "i'm sorry to keep you waiting, there's a problem with our system right now. can i call you back in about a half hour at this number?" that was over an hr ago. dammit.

Re: Diamond Release Speculation Thread
That's because the Touch Diamond is not going to be released for sale until the 14th or around there according to the latest information we've had leaked around here, howardforums, and sprintusers.

There was another link I wanted to find, but couldn't get my hands on it quickly: http://www.sprintusers.com/forum/sho...d.php?t=171935 http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2008/0...ond-dates-and/ As far as "leaked" info goes, it doesn't get much clearer than that. Edit: Here's the third one: http://wmpoweruser.com/?p=815 Again, it doesn't get much better than that... of course the dates could still change. Sprint can do anything they want since none of these dates are "public"...just leaked. |

Re: Diamond Release Speculation Thread
yeah. so weird that they'd have a date listed for the Pro, yet we've never had a document like that w/ a solid date for the Diamond.

Re: Diamond Release Speculation Thread
For those that hate to read where a forum member talked to someone from sprint from some office, then please skip this post right now. I'm not interested in the negative remarks. I'm simply relaying what I was told from an EXECUTIVE's OFFICE about 20 minutes ago.
I just got off the phone with a lady in one of the executive's offices. I had emailed the executive directly last week about several quick issues. One of them was requesting Sprint to consider picking up the CDMA version of the OMNIA that just p***** FCC and in it I mentioned that I was interested in finding out when the Touch Diamond and Touch Pro were coming out. I had spoken with her on Sunday and she called me back today with some information after checking into it. She said that the Touch Diamond release date was pushed back to the 14th -16th time frame. However she said she talked to the people working on the development of the Touch Diamond and said that there is a chance that it could be pushed to the very end of September if they need even more development time. So basically: the reason no one knows an exact release date beyond the links I already posted is that Sprint themselves do not know exactly when the phone is going to be release. Many other companies would simply say at this point that the phone will be released "when it is ready" and not before. Anyway, one last note... this call came from a blocked phone number. All the regular customer service reps I've ever had call me had an 800 or 866 number showing on the caller id when they called. This one came from an unknown/blocked number instead. I have no reason to disbelieve her when she told me she was calling from the office of the executive that I had emailed. |
