Info I have so far...

1. Verizon's Diamond will have the same MSM7501A running at 400 Mhz instead of 528 Mhz

2. Verizon's Diamond will have 54 MB of ISM instead of the 32 MB on the Sprint version

3. Verizon's Diamond will have 128 MB RAM instead of 256 MB RAM on the Sprint version

4. Verizon's Diamond will not have a tilt sensor

5. Verizon's Diamond will have a microSD card slot

I want to see how VZ's Diamond stacks up to Sprint's. That extra 12 MB ISM might make up for the drop in clockspeed or the halved RAM, but not for both.

Why can't Someone just put out a Touch Diamond like Sprint's with a microSD card slot?!

I just have a 1 gig micro sd on my Mogul. I don't even use half of it. Diamond for me...

I think all this info is faulty.. I don't see how/why htc would brand 2 different phones with the same name. and to me the processor is the phone. also IF verizon's has the card slot and not the sensor, it's likely a space issue. It really wouldn't supprise me if both sprint and verizon have both. maybe the reason for the delay.. regardless, I'm sure sprint and verizon's phone will have the same processor and similar ram.

yeah you're wrong. its already been put out there how different these devices are. the delay to make these devices equal all of a sudden would be much much more then a minor delay.

ok, well where is the info coming from, not the corporations thats for sure (except some from sprint). I guess we'll see when they actually come out.

not to mention the fact that verizon gimps the crap out of their phones, one of the main reason i switched to sprint (plus SERO being a kickass deal). To tell you the truth it doesn't surprise me in the least that Verizon would cut functionality to pinch those pennies. While not technically an internal hardware difference, the PPC6800 and the XV6800 are very different exterior wise. Why verizon decided to uglify the XV6800 and delay the release of WM6.1 (with GPS capability still leaving much to be desired) to several months after sprint only attests to their apathy of the needs of the consumer.

i knew it! i believe they were the same cpu and that Verizon is just downclocking theirs to conserve battery power.

I'd like an SD card not for the size, but for the ability to transfer files to the phone from a computer without having to install active sync on the computer. That's a huge capablity lost, IMO.

especially since there's no IRDA!!

atleast they both (pro/diamond) have wifi.

Agreed. And when I look at the Moto Razrs and Blackberry Curve, their SD 'slot' in the battery compartment takes up almost no room. No physical/space reason, IMO, that the Sprint Diamond can't have an SD card. Some weird Sprint marketing thing, I'd guess.
