Re: DIamond review/new info camparsion
I agree that the comparisons between the iPhone and the Diamond are wearing thin. If all I needed to do on any given day was make phone calls on my iPod, then I'd be rushing down to my local Apple Store and signing my life away to Rogers or Fido (or AT&T for our southern neighbours). For people like that, the reason to buy is reducing the number of little electronic devices in their pockets. But the fact of the matter is that I, like most of us here I'm sure, am constantly on the go and I have work to do. Lots of it. There are many days that I don't have to open up my laptop because I can be 100% functional on my Diamond. That is HUGE for me.
Let's hear Steve Jobs claim that he doesn't have to open up his Macbook Air for a whole day because he he can create and edit all the Word/Excel/Powerpoint documents he needs on his iPhone. Or that he can login to his iMac at Cupertino via Remote Desktop. Or that TomTom gives him turn-by-turn navigation to Redmond. Or that he can copy text from 1 email and paste it into another. Shocking... The list goes on. These are the things that we WinMo users are able to take for granted while the fanboi army shells out huge dollars for the privilege of having a pretty interface. In all fairness, the one thing that we can thank Apple for is raising awareness with the general public that being able to do more on a mobile phone than talk and text is possible. This awareness will only speed up the software and hardware development that will benefit all smartphone users. Including those of us with work to do. Now get back to work, all of you! Myke... |

Re: DIamond review/new info camparsion
Don't know if you know, but the diamond carries a mini-usb splitter that gives you:
- a mini-usb charger port - a mini-usb headset port - a 3.5mm audio out - a 2.5mm audio out |

Re: DIamond review/new info camparsion
i think most of the people complaining and downing the iphone next to the diamond are jealous/bitter that the IPOD is so successful and gets it right for so many people. We value different things then most Iphone users so we value these PPC WM6 equipped phones higher then a simpler but imo faster and easier to use iphone. (not faster processor faster to use... that example that other user gave was bias where he listed the steps involved)
Their just arent enough people that value or require the same things we PPC users require in our phones, so they get less priority and money. Mostly from the networks opting to carry the phones but that has a direct impact on the actual phones development and features. Can you imagine how much better these phones would be if their were only old style flip phones and Windows Mobile PDAs what kind of phones we would have?

If that is the case, then you might want to hold out for the HTC Dream?? I, however, am quite content with the look that the look and specs the Sprint Diamond will have.
