It would be... Sprint is wanting to get a GOOD GSM provider that used overseas so they can grow that business, so Sprint is looking at how to spend money the are losing (Defict spending learner from our econmoy) to buy something to help make them more money.

I went to Best Buy Mobile tonight. They say they'll have the Diamond on 9/2 and you will have to change your plan to one of the everything plans.

I can believe the 9/2 maybe 50/50... but I won't believe the everything plan since this is a WinMo phone and is an upgrade to previous phones... this is not a flagship phone and has not been advertised like the Instinct was (Which cost a ton of money to advertise).

Unless Sprint subsidizes the phone a LOT more than has been leaked already then it won't be an everything plan...

Best Buy salespeople are mixed of the same folk that Sprint customer service is made of...some of them GREAT folks with lots of knowledge but too many of them will just make crap up just to impress other people or get them to go away.

The sky is not falling yet.

I hope you're right. She actually said that all PDA phones going forward are going to require the everything plan. We'll see. Hopefully, she's wrong.

I actually work for BB, (BB mobile) I can promise you this is nothing that has been shared with us yet. All we are talking about is the release of the iphone on 9/2.

Thanks bwhite! I wasn't aiming my comments at you directly... I've been in BB's where the staff were professional and would tell you they didn't know rather than make something up, however the few times I've been in my local store here I've found some real twits.

I wonder if the person WFTarHeel talked to confused the Touch Diamond or the Touch Pro with the iPhone since it is a Touch PHONE... perhaps it is a simple miscommunication and I've just been too harsh.... it seems likely that someone might mishear someone talking about the new Touch phone coming out on the 2nd and confuse that with the other more popular (by name recognition) phone... hmmm.

I am a Manager at BB and the release is not 9/2 for the iPhone. Its 9/7....wow I would be not happy if my team messed that up with all the EXTRA iPhone trainings there are. I mean just look at http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....&type=category and it tells you the CONFRIMED date. Anyway, the 9/2 release of the Diamond at BB is hopefully acurate, we did get the Treo, and vegas, red curve abiut 4 days earlier then supposed to but the Diamind has been in the system as instock date of 8/17 for awhile now, with none on order as of yet. Also I would point out that EVERY phone listed on the leaked road map for Sprint 3rd quarter has been 100% dead on. Just look at http://mobilitysite.com/2008/07/spri...uch-pro-maybe/ and you will see what I mean.

Sry, what I meant was 9/7 (I was really tired). Also at BB we have 2 sku's for the diamond, 1 for the actual and one for the mocked up demo. As of 2 days ago neither are on order or in transit.
