Unable to unlock my new diamond stuck @ 0%, error 284
 

after getting a replacement from sprint recently, I'm now unable to unlock my diamond. My boot screen says Security unlocked

DIAM500 MFG
SSPL0.43 CMOMEX
MicroP-DIAM (LED) V11
PSOC-DIAM STAGE_EV V20


When I try to update my rom it's stuck at 0% and then I get an error 284

I'm using the exact same unlocker that I did previously so I can't be having the wrong one.

Are you flashing a CDMA ROM?

Reset your device and computer and try again.
Also, use .57 unlocker.

I'm flashing a CDMA rom. I just flashed the phone to the factory rom, made sure I have net frame work 3.5 (even installed it again with SP1 to be sure)

Flashed again and no go.

Where can I find the .57 unlocker?

I've read it over and over....what's even more strange is I unlocked my other diamond with the exact same unlocker using the same cable and computer maybe 2 weeks ago

see the SSPL0.43 CMONEX? You're phone is already unlocked. CMONEX is the woman who made the hard spl. SSL 0.43 is older. If you want to get the 0.57 version, I'd try locking your phone and then unlocking again with the 0.57 hard spl.

I had the same problem yesterday. It said unlocked but it really was not. I had to first do a hard reset on the phone. Then I flashed the newest htc rom from their website. After, you have to unlock the phone again using this link:

Then you should be able to flash to custom rom.

It always says unlocked, regardless if you have applied the hardspl or not. If you see cmonex on the bootloader screen, it's unlocked.

I've also tried to relock and then unlock but during the relock process I get the same error

I'm now downloading the HTC Touch Diamond™ (Sprint) Maintenance Release – Version 2.00.651.7 | 04.03.2009 on the HTC site I hope that's the Rom you're referring to cause I don't see anything else on their site.

The original screen I posted was what shows when I try to do an unlock or upgrade a rom.

When you flashed your carrier's rom does it boot and function normally?
If so, start over with the unlocking procedure. :dontknow:

Ok here's what I've done over and over.

First I attempt to unlock then but I get an error, it gives me the above error. and remained in the 3 color screen, all I had to do was sof reset then phone back to normal.

So tried to relock and also error and stuck at tri color screen soft reset again and back to normal.

saw that my tri color screen says security unlock so I tried to flash with a kitchen rom that I was previously using, now I get pass the tri color screen but the progress bar stuck @ 0% then I get an error on the PC. Again soft reset and the phone is back to operating normal.

I also perform a hard reset prior to each flashing, locking and unlocking with the same result.

So I flashed with the stock sprint rom everything went through and the phone took the flashing then tried again from step 1 as described above with no luck either.

So I downloaded the rom from the HTC site which appears to be the exact same rom as the one in the unlocking/relocking thread "sprint shipped" rom but I did the reflash anyways and tried again with no luck.

So to summarize, when I try to unlock or relock the screen get stuck @ the tri color screen then error. When I try to flash with a kitchened rom I get stuck @ 0%

If the unlocker is still not working, try a different cable or PC. Even if it worked 2 weeks ago, that doesn't seem something in that combination is not causing problems now.

I'm thinking that you have got something running on your pc that is blocking the unlock/flash process. Gotta be something like that. Make sure ALL anti-virus, anti-malware, and firewall protection is disabled. It sure sounds like something is blocking it to me. :(

Sorry to bring this thread back from the grave, but I wanted to know if this issue was ever resolved. Just got a refurb Diamond from Sprint and it also has SPL-0.64.0000. Does this new SPL require a new unlocker to be made?

I realize that. I recommended it to you because from the data you have posted as to what shows in bootloader it seems you are already unlocked. You should be able to flash a custom rom. You may be experiencing what users in that thread did when they were trying to flash a custom rom. I thought that if you went through the steps in that thread you may be able to flash. :dontknow:

so this is what my said so I downloaded HTC Touch Diamond™ (Sprint) Maintenance Release – Version 2.00.651.7 | 04.03.2009 from here then after that finish I flash the DiamondC_HSPL057.zip

I feel your pain on this one. My last Diamond LCD screen failed so they sent me a refurb replacement. And now I am having the same issue as you, no matter what I throw at it. It will not unlock, lock, update roms. Ugh, I hate the 6.1 OS.

My contract renewal is still 9 months away. God, the idea of having to use this thing til then the way it is has me wanting to break it in half. :mad: What really sucks is that they offered me a Pro 2 in place of but I like the ROM I had in the old Diamond so much that it was the phone I wanted.

Hard reset : power + volum down + enter ( o button ) + hold down reset untilt white page come up. Press volum down to reset and fomat moviNAND. then flash with DiamondC_HSPL057.zip
