power button on diamond is dead, how do I turn it on??
 

after replacing a dead digitizer LCD screen, now the power button is gone...
is there an alternative way to turn the diamond on?
I have tried hitting the reset button or connecting it to the computer, but nothing worked...
I need your help!! THANKS!!

The power button on my Diamond started to go bad so what I found is that when you pop out the battery, then pop it back in... it will automatically power on.

Once that was on, I went into the lock settings and told it to allow any button to be pressed while the phone was "off/locked"

Thanks beestea for your help, I have tried your method but the phone still wouldn't come on...
the guy who fixed my phone somehow got it to run yesterday, and he told me that he did it by putting it into flash mode
did he mean bootloader mode? but without the power button, how do I access the bootloader mode?

Reset button doesn't work? USB doesn't work? Sounds like you need to take it in to be repaired.

nope...none of them work...
these are what I have tried:
1. hitting the reset button ---> failed
2. connecting it to my computer ---> failed
3. hard reset or bootloader mode ---> failed, impossible without the power button

what I am going to try next is to get my gf's working diamond and try to drain the battery out, then charge it up and see if this process would wake it up...:(

Have you tried opening it back up to see if a connection on the board is loose somewhere? If the reset button isn't working that tells me that there is something physically wrong with the phone, and with your recent repair work you could have accidentally put the phone together with a loose connection. If it were me I would open it back up and check all the ribbon cables and connectors.

What have you done to your power button? lol :)

I've seen issues with it not responding but never being dead....wow, defect!

Hi, Same problem, power button not working. Which also means I can't turn the screen off as a power save. Phoned about getting it repaired but Orange said that HTC only warranty for 12 mths and mines 14 mths old. No Insurance, and still got 4 mths of contract left,...arggh!

Does anyone know if I can change the power off button or fix it? Can't do a hard reset without the power button I believe. Have to pull out stylus pen to reactivate screen. Is there a hotfix/upgarde that might help? Cheers.
