[Update] Fixed Landscape VGA : Swype-3.9.10.10.5032
3 Attachment(s)
4-4-2010 Update
-fixed missing symbols in lite version (uninstall previous version and soft reset before installing) -added swype full vga version (contains languages and all of help files) 4-3-2010 Update -Fixed landscape for VGA in attached lite version. Original cab was only for WVGA in landscape. -Removed all help files and other languages since Swype must be installed to \windows. This makes the installation ~3.5 mb instead of ~9mb. Saves space :). -Added languages in zip. If you want to use one of them, download, unzip, and copy the language you want to \windows\swype. -Original cab attached as NoVGALandscape_Original_Swype-3.9.10.10.5032.CAB for those of you who may want the original cab without vga landscape but with Help Files and all language support. 3-21-2010 Update Posted new Swype-3.9.10.10.5032.cab. There's a few threads about this in other phone sections here, but I thought our over-the-hill Diamond could use one as well. Swype has been ported to VGA and works by just sliding over the letters of a word. It seems to work pretty well and I may end up using it over TouchPal when I get more used to it. It does seem to be pretty fast and accurate. hirad_sabaghian posted it in a thread at XDA. See this thread for more information and screenshots. For convenience, I've attached the VGA ported version. |
Re: Swype: New sip ported from Verizon Omnia II
Yeah I found it yesterday on another thread in here and was coming on here to tell people about it too. Its a very cool ap you slide around the keyboard easy to use and the prediction on it puts the word you actually typed in it. Please everyone try this for your device it totally rocks and you can type on it stock I'm still learning it and sometimes I just can't swipe a really long word etc just hit it in 1 at a time like a normal keyboard if you have difficulties with a word etc.
This is the 3rd cab I have found for it. I haven't tried my keyboard in landscape. I might have read that is the only issue is this version made up for the diamond? oh and something else the first cab I installed to internal storage and I couldn't get it to work the 2nd cab (1 kb dif in size) I installed into device and it worked just fine. also I couldn't get the tutorial to work on the other version I found in the software section in the other thread. I haven't tried this particular cab folks so just be aware that those are the only issues I found with it and making the tutorial work might be my fault I might not be doing it right. |

Also, if anyone prefers a Swype Keyboard HTC-like Skin to the Omnia II style, check out Baly23's post over at xda-developers ( link: http://tinyurl.com/ya92qus ). Best to all, R |
