Diamond replacement through Sprint Repair Center

Anyone who's had their Diamond replaced through the Sprint Repair Center, what are you receiving as a replacement?

Over the last couple of days my Diamond has started to show dozens of black specs on the camera lens while trying to take photos. They said the replacement will be in on Monday, and the model they ordered on the paperwork is a 6850. As far as I know, that's a Touch Pro. Are Diamonds not available anymore as replacements?

I was under the impression that Sprint was replacing the Touch Pro with TP2's, so I'm not sure about receiving a Touch Pro as a Diamond replacement..

I was told diamonds are forever. I was also told TP users get upgraded to a TP2.

as far as replacements for the diamond, youll either get a replacement refurbished diamond, or downgraded to a brand new htc touch. i know this from first hand, and i confirmed this with e support, over the phone support, and assurion.

I had two replacements through the Sprint Repair Center and both of them were refurbished Diamonds. (this was about 3 months ago, so I don't know if they have a new policy)

I'm on my third Diamond Refurb in two weeks. The first two had weird dark spots on the bottom half of the screen. This Refurb seems to be holding up, but the screen looks a little janky when looked at from the sides. If this thing bites the dust too, I hope they swap my out to a Blackberry, lol

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows CE; IEMobile 7.11) Sprint MP6950SP)

wish they would replace mine with a TP as well.

I had mine swapped a few times and always received another Diamond in return. I know they will switch for a Treo Pro, which is a downgrade IMO. They won't do a Blackberry though since it's a different platform. I was told it had to be similar and they don't consider that similar.

The replaced my last Diamond with a refurbished Diamond. When I picked it up on Saturday, the first call I tried to make, the speaker and microphone were not working. This was 5 minutes after I left the store!!! I went back in and spoke to an associate. They ordered another replacement and told me that this would count against my "3 replacements in a 6 month period" phones. I called customer service and retention and raised hell. They told me it is now up to the Corporate Store Managers if any exchanges for different phones could be made because everyone used to call The Cancellation Dept and get free phones. Result: I am picking up my 4th Diamond tomorrow......the battle goes on!!! I hate to lose my SERO plan, but I am canceling when my contract expires in February.

Wow ... first I ever recall of someone even (openly) considering cancelling a SERO account. Most folks mentione that they might be willing to part with them and folks come out of the woodwork offering to take over the contract / account.

Best regards,

Sucks about all the trouble you are having but the fact is that the phone is made by HTC. sprint is just in the middle. Also I think the next time you are in contact with sprint do not raise hell. i used to work in CS and people never really get anywhere by being a jerk. be nice and tell them everything you have gone through. sprint has been really good to me. they swaped out my mogul for a TP before and it only took one call.

just saying...

No luck for me either. I needed mine replaced and sure enough a Diamond was sent to me. Oh well I think I am just going to sell it on e-bay and pay the difference for a tp or tp2. To bad for me because the deductible alone is $100 bucks plus at least 16 months I have been paying TEP roughly $112. If anything, if you are good about handling your phones you might as well cancell TEP.
