Verizon HTC Touch Pro 2 or Alltel Touch Diamond Pro
Currently, I have the alltel version of the touch diamond pro... But Verizon has offered me the chance to go with their phone with little or no flux on my contract.
Should I? Is it worth the upgrade? |

So when was your original contract up? Do you know if they are offering special deals to get out of your alltel contract to go to verizon? I have been looking at the TP2 and the Imagio. Both look like great phones.

Yeah...
I don't know. They want me to sign for another year and I'll get the phone free. They also won't set this as a contract phone, (giving it to me out of contract) so I can still be eligible for my upgrade in Dec (contract ends in april 10) if I wanted. I just don't know if it's worth it. I think I'll wait for Verizon's Android. |
Re: Verizon HTC Touch Pro 2 or Alltel Touch Diamond Pro
Well I mean if you are given the phone for free and still have the option to upgrade when newer phones come out later in the year I would probably say go for it. I mean hell it is a free phone. And unless there are some strings attached or something that would make it not free or make it so you can't get a newer phone than I would say wait. So being your contract is up in april they are offering you this deal? Do you know if they are offering that for all contracts or just ones that are ending soon. Like within a couple months?

You are in a good situation either way. There's nothing to worry about. You joined a better carrier.

Make sure they're not trying to take away your unlimited data plan in this deal. With Verizon, there's a 5GB/month cap; Alltel had no cap, and in the merger your true unlimited service will be grandfathered in unless you agree to a Verizon contract without it. Of course this might not be an issue for you if you don't use a lot of data, but be wary of anything Verizon offers.
