Re: Sprint Touch Diamond 2

I spoke w/ conflipper this morning....his sources say Sprint WILL be getting a version of the Whitestone...who knows when, but someone who claimed to be a Sprint employee posted that it would be end of Nov. Also, con said the HD2 will only be GSM, so that's Tmobile or AT&T.....but who knows for sure.

Personally, I'm (not so patiently) waiting to see if a Whitestone (or equivalent) comes to Sprint...I am confident something will.

IF and thats a huge IF, Sprint were to get the HD2 next year, I will bite the bullet & dump whatever I have & pay full price.

I'm not interested in Android right now, plus I'd have to change my plan.

The real question, at least for me, is if I want to blow my upgrade discount on a device with the same processor that its predecessor had, or wait a few more months for something with a newer and faster processor.

I hear ya, I just qualified for $75 on 10/1, so no big loss for me......I just have a feeling it will be much more than a few moths for Sprint to release something significantly better. It could be another year. I bought my wife the TP2, it's very nice, and fast. I would get it too, but I'd rather get a TD2....so I wait, but not too long....

Sprint

This sounds good and all but its out with verizon how long does it take for them to know when there going to drop a phone thats already out. Unless there are changing the processor and a few more things that need alot more testing. that could be a game changer and that reason nothing happening yet. I do think the touch hd 2 is to far away to wait and still not know if sprint will even get this device but if nothing better comes before then might as well wait.

I agree that if Sprint takes yet another month to drop a device identical to the HTC Imagio, it would be somewhat disappointing. The TD2 and TPro2 are both out with WinMo 6.5 on Verizon and AT&T (and at reasonable prices). Sprint has only the TPro2 and that is still running WinMo 6.1 (no update to WinMo 6.5 availability date announced yet). I doubt Sprint would upgrade the processor in the HTC TD2/Whitestone as users in the know would buy it over the TP2 unless they absolutely had to have a physical keyboard. If Sprint comes late to the game with the same hardware as the HTC Imagio or Pure, they better not be asking for more money than Verizon or At&T.

Re: Sprint Touch Diamond 2

maybe sprint is purposely waiting so they don't get a flood of TP2 returns. Also, with the Hero coming out on 10/11, they want to milk that as much as they can b4 releasing the TD2.

I dont think the VZ TP2 has 6.5.

It sure does sport WinMo 6.5. See the screenshot from an Imagio's settings in this thread here at PPCGeeks.

That's the TD2 not the TP2...
