I try to update my phone and It says it had the most current software :( I downloaded a 90 mb file but I can't figure out how to manually flash it. I'm uprooted if that matters.

I am sure I read that if your rooted you can't do the OTA updates. You might have to revert to original, unroot then update? But I am not an expert here, so you might want to read on or wait till someone with more knowledge comes along.

I'm not rooted.100% stock. No update available, I downloaded from xda what I think is the update in .zip format but I cant figure out how to install it...

Hey guys.

Small question. I am new with Android.

I have a seller who wants to sell me his HTC Desire Locked to Telus.
How can I unlock it?
I searched and the Desire Section is Empty. No mods? no upgrades? no nothing?

Where are the chefs?
I know that the GSM roms cannot be installed to the CDMA roms on the Touch Pro 2?

Does this also apply to Android?

Well MightyMike and Mr X both left to mightyrom.com, not sure about the rest of the chefs, and no you cant use a gsm rom on cdma..

well if its like most ota updates not all phones get it at once but it is out.

btw post link with zip, you sure you didnt dl a 2.2 rom?

Try Cyangoen ROMs, it is the only one I found where 99.9999% of it works. Not many chefs out there for the CDMA phones. Guess there is more work to do than GSM. But someday? :banghead:

I emailed HTC about an issue of my OTA update not working, they sent me this.

Thank you for the response.

HTC is going to update all HTC Desire Android 2.2 software, so currently FOTA service for upgrade to Froyo is currently offline and will be available very soon. Google has halted OTA updates for many Android devices until the issue with Android Market is resolved. The update will not work on the Desire until this issue is resolved. Once it is resolved, a newer update will arrive on the phone to correct the current issues. I do apologize Dutin for any confusion and for any inconvenience you may have experienced.

Hi did the update via wifi today, download the firmware ok on the SD card,
after the phone try to do the update itself, it didn't found the .zip, so I reboot the phone with power and volume down, found the new 2.2 zip files performed the update, everyrhing seem good so far, after it finish, rebooting the phone, I'm stuck there, the phone always freeze and the withe HTC screen, always rebooting, that sucks ??? Any Ideas ??:pale:
