Telus HTC Desire
 

I have the HTC Desire from Telus in Canada.

I bought it the beginning of August. I have been searching all over the internet for an answer, even contacting Telus without luck of course.

When the hell is 2.2 coming out? I really want it, and would rather not root my phone, which by the looks of it here on this site, no tutorials for the Desire?

Just a guess, but judging how long the update for the hero took I would say Telus will roll it out late next year. Its sad but thats how they roll. The TP2 didnt even get a 6.5 rom from Telus as far as I know.

telus does not update devices unless they get customers calling and demanding it frequently
Telus is the Cheapest carrier ever, they would make u sue a bag phone if they could get away with it. They have to pay htc to write updates, so shy or threatening to go to another carrier your requests will fall on deaf ears.

So what about rooting, I don't see anything on this site about doing it. Is there a HTC Sense UI 2.2 ROM out there, untouched?

Is there a un-edited/changed Android 2.2 from HTC ROM?

Hey Mr.X,

I'm a long time user of both your and Mighty's TP2 Roms but have now jumped ship to Android/Desire... (Still remember when you were just Juggs..hehe)

Got a question for you...

I've rooted/flashed my Desire to Froyo and all is working good, but...
The new built in voice dialing app blows as well as most of the others available right now! Coming from MS Voice Command I'm spoiled I guess...
I downloaded the image you posted and dug around in it and found the stock Voice Commander that came with the phone. I lost this when I flashed and miss it cause it was hands down better than anything I've tried on the new rom...

So, my question is: Is there any way to install or package the stock voice command up so that it can be installed in Froyo?

Figured you might know, or know someone who does.

Are you serious? google voice search is eff'in amazing.

Go watch a tutorial on how to use it and its functions u will die with joy and be the envy of your friends.

ok, but can I initiate/control it from my bluetooth headset while driving around?
I spend a fair amount of time driving & in traffic, so this is critical...
I really need to be able to dial completely hands free by voice with confirmation through bluetooth while driving. It's a must for me...
