Help, I can't update to 7.5!
 

Sprint replaced my TP2 with an Arrive today. The refurbished Arrive came with 7.0.7392.0. I have spent the last 3 hours trying to upgrade to 7.5 without any success.

The first time it got stuck at step 6 of 9 installing the updates. The last two attempts it went all the way but kept on hanging in the end and never completed the upgrade to 7.5. Each of the last two times I waited for what seemed like forever and finally gave up and hit the cancel tab to start over again. :banghead:

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

Yea sometimes it just takes awhile to complete that step, just wait it out and it should go through.

It took 4 attempts and finally I was able to complete the update to 6.5! :wav::wav:

Yes, 7.5. I guess that using the TP2 with 6.5 so long brainwashed me. :D

Now that I have Mango for the Arrive, when is Sprint going to release Tango? #-o

I don't think they're going to especially since they EOL'd the arrive.

On the TP2 didn't they offer the upggrade from 6.0 to 6.5 after the Arrive was released with 7.0?

You can force update as I mentioned in another post. Worked for me. But how did you get them to replace your TP2 with an Arrive? I have a TP2 and would like to do that too.

I went into my local Sprint store and replaced a non-working TP2 with a refurbished one under their extended protection plan. By the time I returned home the screen was falling off so returned the next day and really complained to the manager. After I suggested it he ordered me an Arrive as an accommodation for having to return and wasting my time with a refurbished phone that was not inspected beforehand.

They did raise my monthly plan by $10 which i couldn't avoid.

But the fee increase is justified to me(in my opinion). I found a lot more use of a smartphone with the Arrive than the TP2 I had.
The new 8773 update has little improvement than the official 7720. You need to force to 8107, 8112 first.

I agree with you that the Arrive is far superior to the TP2.

I have official 7720, where did you get the update from and did you have any issues once you installed it? It sounds like you are saying it isn't worth the effort.

I always want to keep up-to-date. Since there's no light about the future of arrive, I'll take whatever available and give that a try. It does fix some problems I believe.
Of course, after using WP7, I found a lot problems that were not addressed quickly enough, and no official pipe to announce the coming new releases, so it is frustrating.
