Do you own one?
I haven't seen much activity in this forum, so I was wondering..how many people own an Arrive?

Re: Do you own one?
had mine since day 1 too. enjoying it despite the sprint coverage issues in my area due to the 2/1 blizzard that damaged cell sites. the repairs are taking forever.

No. Until it can do all the things you can do with a TP2, I won't buy it.

The decision really depends on how you will use the phone. Right now, for example, if you want to tether your laptop to your phone's internet connection, on the Arrive, you're SOL. Maybe that will change. But if that is not important to you, the Arrive is worth considering. |

Basically, go use the iPhone for a while, and if you like it, you'll love the Arrive. If you don't, then you won't like the Arrive. It's a simple iperating system.

Re: Do you own one?
I finally got the Focus and used it for a day over the weekend. Using the Atrix for work today but when I go home I'm switching back and updating to NoDo :)
As far as comparing it to the iPhone, I think the OS is very similar and Microsoft certainly took a page out of Apple's playbook- limiting user customization in order to eliminate instability. Which isn't a bad thing. Need more apps though, which will come in time but some apps I expected to be there already. |

THIS IS NOT WINDOWS MOBILE!! Forget everything you know about previous MS Mobile OS offerings. I figured this out the first hour I had my Arrive. There are minor things that bother me about the OS and the phone itself but overall I'm pretty pleased with my choice. |

Second, I think it would be great if the locked down features of W7 were fixed in a later release. I would then definitely consider the Arrive then. But, respectfully, tethering is a "big deal" to me. All I need is an app to tether the TP2 to my lap top. I also tethered with the TP and the PPC 65-6700s before w/o any "hacking." Blackberries also came with tethering software. I don't find browsing on a 3 inch screen nearly as productive as on a 13 - 15 inch laptop and tethering comes in handy when no wifi is available. I will be visiting my local sprint store this weekend as my rep. has been calling me to come in and look at the Epic. She, and many other Sprint reps I've talked to have listened to my critical comments about the Arrive and haven't disagreed at all. And, I discussed this online with Rob Pegrano, the former Tech writer for the Washington Post, who panned W7 and indicated it was not a big part of Sprint's future plans. Look, I'm sure that many users, such as you, do love and will love the Arrive. But it may not be for everybody. I have no axe to grind here. If MS fixes these problems, then I'll be back. |

Re: Do you own one?
I think they want you to legal-tether, so they can get an extra +$20/month from you

WP7 also doesn't have LTE, WiMax, or HSPA+ support so I guess I can kinda see the lack of tethering, but when I tether on my HD2 I get really fast speeds on HSDPA so it would still be cool. But there is no legal/paid/legit tethering on WP7 at all, if you want to tether buy an Evo |
Re: Do you own one?
I don't pay much attention to tethering since I don't use it, but I agree it should be an option. I fully believe that for WP7 to get to where it needs to be, it has to be able to do everything the competitors do- iOS and Android specifically. Pay developers to port their apps over to WP7 if they have to, add features constantly, etc. They have a good UI and NoDo is fast as hell so far, I really want to use the phone more but logemin, mlb at-bat, and WordsWithFriends need to come over asap.
I know that anyone can replace ^ those 3 apps with 3 of their own, or more. Like tethering. I've emailed the devs of all the apps I want and hope all of you do the same. People think its useless but trust me, they listen. |

Tethering would be nice and I'm sure its in pipelines, but no deal breaker. ;) |
Re: Do you own one?
I bought is on day one as well but haven't made it my main phone yet. I also own an Android shift. So far I love the windows interface but miss some important apps that are keeping me from switching. I hope they come out. One was a. Sirius radio apps that's now out. The big ones still missing are smart dialer and being able to use as a hot spot
