Is having your Unlock Code (msl) useful

Total n00b question; I have the unlock code for my phone but not seeing any advantage to having it. I can enter service mode with ##3282# but just not familiar enough with any of the acronyms, etc to find a use. Is it possible to enable tethering here or more? Thanks for any input.

How did you get your unlock code? I would be interested in playing with it and seeing what features it could potentially unlock and allow us to use... Unlocking our devices is a step closer to "jailbreaking" it and any little progress is better than none at all.

i always get my msl from changing phones online to my old katana, then switching back. when it gives you the manual programming instructions it wil show a one time code, and a secondary code...secondary is your msl

Wirelessly posted (Htc Arrive: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows Phone OS 7.0; Trident/3.1; IEMobile/7.0; HTC; T7575))

Msl will allow you to manually program your phone. Pretty much manually provisioning. Also ##rtn# will allow you factory reset.. Etc

epst mode via ## codes and the msl will grant you access.

From Sprint Cust Service of course, had trouble getting service. They didn't (neither did I @ the time) know how to update the phone cellular settings and thought I would need it after a reset.

Thanks to everyone for the replies
