Sprint HTC Arrive manual data programming?

Hi, since few years ago, in Mexico some people have purchased and programmed manually CDMA devices (mainly Sprint and verizon devices), to use it in Iusacell`s CDMA network (Mexico); from HTC Apaches, Moguls, Diamonds TPs, TP2s, Evos, Epics...

I only want to find some information to programming WP7 CDMA devices like the HTC Arrive. In WP7 CDMA devices is there something like EPST? Anyone has tried to find the SPC code with existing tools in WP7? Is possible to connect these devices to a PC and use tools like QPST?

..wait!, now that I think about it, the HTC Arrive seems to be the first Windows Phone 7 CDMA-based device ..then maybe this is something premature .

Any information?

Thanks in advance !!

in the marketplace you can find HTC App called "Connection Setup". When you run that it tells you what country and carrier you are configured to... You can manually change that selection - and if you want to chose a different carrier you can select it from a long list - it appears to have all carriers together (GSM/CDMA)...

Now the funny thing - I am with Sprint (obviously) but when I run this tool - it shows me as part of Verizon Wireless - I chose Sprint and set it - but still seems to say Verizon... Strange -- but hey it works. I am not 100% sure what this program does yet but this might be what you are looking for!

This HTC Connection app totally borked data on my phone and also for many other users on XDA. Beware.

This is what is happening with my Arrive. Worked great for 3 weeks and then I just went to look at the Connection Setup app and noticed it was saying I was on Verizon. So I manually configured to Sprint and boom...lost my internet and cannot get it back.

Spent 3 hours with advanced tech support and still cannot get back online (other than WiFi). What did you do to get it back? Just a hard reset?

About 3 hard resets trying the manual OTA programming each time.

dial ##MFG#
you can look and fix evdo settings via built-in tools, or QPST.

Thanks for all replies

To get the MSL code (not asking to Sprint), Is necesary to buy it?

Quote:

1. get the MSL/SPC of the phone. you can ask Sprint, or buy it from an unlock service provider ( i bought it from //nickflashcricket.net )
nickflashcricket.net seems to only sell Blackberry MSL codes, really u can buy a HTC Arrive MSL code in there?

The buit-in tools (##MFG#) are similar to EPST tool (all CDMA and Data settings) ?

Thanks again

i bought mine there.
just supply the MEID of your arrive.

for EPST-like tools, you can use ##DATA#
use ##MFG# if you want to go to diag mode.

Does anyone here know how to manually update a PRL for the HTC Arrive? I need to upload a Page Plus/Verizon one so that the phone looks at the correct tower.

I got my MSL unlock code from Sprint

This helped out a ton.
I just followed the instructions and I got the PRL uploaded for Page Plus. I can now make and receive calls and text messages. I tried to get the DATA working but haven't had any luck. I will have to probably wait until an HTC Trophy shows up at Verizon to try and mirror the settings. Trying to get them from the TP2 helped a lot but something is still missing. I can't find a setting where it allows you to dial a #777. Seems like that would be the ticket.

I think I'll be joining you buying an off contract Arrive and trying to copy the settings from the Verizon phone.

You must have had to use CDMA Workshop as well?

Yep, i used the CDMA Workshop for the Page Plus PRL upload. I couldn't find anywhere in the settings where to upload one from a storage card like Windows Mobile on my Touch Pro 2. I should spend some more time in the program seeing what it can do but I was just ecstatic to get the phone working for talk/text on the Verizon network and have left it at that.

Remember, there's probably a super slim chance you could get the phone activated with Verizon directly. I've gone into Verizon through the back door sort of:evil4:

Hello,

I was wondering if there was a "tutorial" of some kind that would teach me how to use my Arrive on Verizon Wireless. I'm a WP7 developer and I got my phone from Microsoft before the HTC Trophy was released. I prefer the WP7 over my stupid iPhone. I found a link in this thread to a process someone took, but I do not understand the vocabulary used.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forums.

Although getting the Arrive on Verizon Wireless directly seems like a next to nothing chance because the ESN isn't already in the system you could call in with an ESN and see if it would work. I've not known of too many instances where a Sprint phone was able to get on Verizon through standard procedures.

I got mine on Verizon's towers by going through the back door so to speak via Page Plus and doing a little manual programming of the settings. I haven't gotten the data part working yet only because I haven't made the time to do it. Plenty of Wi-Fi to make the phone buzz right along
