Where does Apache store the backup
When I install a new ROM apache stores a backup on the phone. This is to be installed during a hard reset. Where does the Apache store the back up?
Can this back up be change? It seems to me that a different back up could be installed on the phone. This way when you do a hard reset, the new (WM5-->WM6) could be installed with out doing the ROM install from a PC. To take this one step further, someone could have several ROMs on a storage card and pick the one they want installed. Now this seems a little out there because you would have to be able to choose the destination of the BU. But I guess you can see the benifits of this idea..... Whadda ya think? |

OK, if it doesn't store a BU, does it just delete everything that has been installed? And restore all registry entries to "as installed"?
As to the benefit, someone could make custom ROMs. Anyone wanting to try it, could save it to phone and do a hard reset. There would be no need for a PC. Can you tell me, where does the phone find the "default" setup when you do a hard reset? |
