tethering broke
 

I have computers that have tethered. I run wm6 on my phone. I did a hard reset and reinstalled all my stuff. Now I get a Check usb cable connection then I try to tether. What am I missing?

I have made it work with PDANet. But before I could tether with no additional software on the computer side. I must have missed something with the reinstall. But what?

For whatever reason I have to connect to the networks wait 30 sec.. then connect to my pc. Once the phone gets a dns then it will properly gateway. It took me a few tries but I finally got it!

Ya, Internet Connection Sharing seems kinda finnicky over USB. I usually use Bluetooth, but when I do use USB I follow this ritual:

1) Enable ICS (over USB) on the phone
2) Connect the USB cable to the phone and wait a few seconds.
3) Connect the USB cable to the computer.

It's probably mostly in my head, but this method/sequence of events seems to work. If I connect the USB cable to the computer first it usually has issues connecting.

If you are having trouble getting ICS to work, make sure you have Bluetooth disabled before you tap "Connect."
