Phone as Modem for PPC 6700
 

I had someone tell me at a Sprint repair store that there was a website to download a file that had every thing needed to use my phone as a modem with my laptop. I found it, downloaded, and used it for quite awhile. I have since had to take down my hard drive and re-install windows from another problem.....But I cant remember where to find that phone as modem free download. My phone is not coded to use as a modem, but apparently this download--it didnt matter. Anyone have any help for me here? Thank you.

you mean a as in a dialup modem? Yes, it can do that... the phone can be used as a "voice" modem. But if you use it frequently then sprint data service would probably be more economical and you could use it anywhere sprint has coverage.

It's on the original cd that came with the phone.

And Karmashock, there's no additional charge for tethering with a 6700 (as long as you have a data plan). So how is the "sprint data service" (I assume you're talking about a data card) at $60 a month going to be cheaper?

I know about the Cd-rom....only works if your phone is coded with the phone as modem plan from Sprint....My phone is not coded to use as a modem, but I was able to do it with this hack download. Just cant remember where that download is......

You need PDANet. This gets around that new Phone as Modem plan BS.
