My PPC-6700 is a Brick!!
I emailed the guru with this, but thought I'd post it here too...
I'll bet that you see this a lot, so I'll keep this brief. I have a 6700 that I bought about a year ago. I installed a program to overclock it and for some reason, it did a hard reset and would not boot. I actually sent it to HTC to have it repaired, but when they called me, they told me that since I had hacked it, they would not help and sent it back. It comes to the initial screen where it shows you the version numbers in red at the bottom, but won't go after that. Here is what I have done so far: Hard reset. Reinstall the Sprint upgrade software (the bootloader allowed the download to the phone and all looked good, but still won't boot after the upgrade). Installed several of your and other peoples upgraded ROMs. Installed your WM6 ROM. The phone now shows the HTC logo from your WM6 upgrade, but just sits at the boot screen with the version numbers at the bottom. It shows the following: H/W=2 P SNAZ-40306 M-12 R 1.12.00 U=4 D 3.50.00 WWE Any ideas on how to get this thing to boot?? Tom |
Im not an expert or anything but there may be something you can get out of the sticky thread Stuck in Bootloader. Also, I saw someone listed a different Hard Reset method the other day but I can't find it.

Will it go into 'usb mode' (Two top left buttons while pressing reset on the bottom of the phone?) If so try flashing with factory rom from utcomm's website.
|
I'd put the original rom back on and send it in for repair/replacement. Just don't tell them that you tried loading other programs/roms.

Thanks...
Thanks to all for the responses...
It will go into USB mode. I have reflashed it with everything from the original ROM to the upgrades from Sprint and UTC. THe most recent flash was with Helmi's WM6. It now shows the HTC logo with the version numbers at the bottom, but that is as far as it gets. Helmi was nice enough to write back to me and mentioned that my IMGFS may be corrupt and I may have to reformat with the mtty command. He is a very helpful person, indeed. Tom |
