Broken LCD Screen Again!! Cheap Replacements??

Well, somehow I managed to break my 3rd LCD screen on my PPC 6700. This is exactly why I wish it flipped open and had the LCD screen on the inside.

Does anybody know where we can get the cheapest LCD replacements besides Ebay for $50??

i could have swore ive seen them for less than 50 but how do you keep breaking them?

Weedahoe, since you're in georgia try out atlanta.craigslist.com, i've seen trashed 6700's go up on there all the time. Many of which still have decent lcd's :)

That would be great if I had a brokne screen but it isnt me who is looking for one. Bugsysiegals is looking for one. But THX anyway!!

Are you with Sprint? If so, I take it you don't have the 7 dollar a month TEP plan? I was just informed here recently that damaged screens are covered by ESRP, and incur no cost to be replaced at your local Sprint Repair facility.

Yes, I am with Sprint, and I also have the insurance plan, however; I upgraded my phone to WM6 so it's probably not the best idea for me to turn it in to them. The location in my city doesnt fix anything and they send it back to Sprint. Since I cannot see anything I cannot flash it back. I have to bite the bullet on this one and buy a screen.

most techs and store staff

A: dont give a sh!t what OS you have on there
B: dont know enough about the phone to know the difference
C: cant see the screen till its fixed, and since your paying for it anyways there is nothing to void

I agree w/JBabey. I had WM6 on my 6700 and had to replace it because the alignment was all mess up. Sprint replaced it in two days w/ no issues.

Why can't you flash it back with a broken LCD? Flashing doesn't require you to "do" anything on screen.
Plug it in via USB and run the "Official" Sprint ROM update package. Your PC will tell you when it's done. I don't believe you even have to put it in bootloader, but you could.

OS6 no problem

I took my 6700 to sprint repair center because of the joystick button being kuput from the last impact with the ground. They didn't care in the least what I had on it because it was a hard ware (obvious broken) issue. If they would have question what's with the programing, I would have told them fix whats broken and leave the rest to me. But, in any case, they just didn't care. They didn't have a repalcement for me, acording to the paper work they can't order any replacement so I expect to get a mogle. I'll let you know in a few days...
Oh, its all covered in the $7/month insurance.
