wtf, cant copy files from windows

im trying to modify my dialpad based on the paulya black vista theme, and for some reason it wont let me copy files from the windows folder and put them on my pc.

is there a block on doing this?

Karmashock 09-15-2007 04:29 PM

that's weird... I know some of those files are read only but I can't imagine why any of them would restrict copying.

ls6tt 09-15-2007 04:33 PM

ive reset the phone and my laptop still noting

badfrog 09-15-2007 04:36 PM

your not trying to cut and paste are you? or drag and drop? it may be interpreting that as a move isntead....

ls6tt 09-15-2007 04:43 PM

You're just trying to copy the dialer images for editing?

Which dialer are you using? I have all the default images for the Touch Dialer in my ftp in the "themes" folder.. also there's the default "crossbow" dialer images there too.

On vista too the \Windows folder doesn't show up in explorer. It used to for me, but I'm guessing it was an update to WMDC or something that killed it. Most people can't see \Windows from Vista though. Could try copying to storage card or another folder first using the file explorer on the PPC and then browsing to that folder on your PC. Not sure exactly what kind of prob you're having.

maybe its just end-user operating issues because Ive never seen that or had it happen either.

More like default ROM settings... I just tested with WM6 and if I uncheck the "Enable Advanced Network Functionality" in settings->connections->usb-to-pc, then \Windows is visible again. Never really bothered me enough to do any fux0ring with it. There's a thread around here too with Luv and a few others doubting that I could even see it in vista in the first place, hehe. Had to post a screenshot.
