Data plan question
I currently have Verizon's unlimited data plan which is ridiculously expensive. I noticed in the latest kitchen an app called No Data, which apparently shuts down all data connections. Could I drop down to the Pay as you go plan and use the No Data app to make sure that I dont get charged by any programs accessing data? Would I still be able to download pic/video messages? Do you get charged the data rate for pic/video messages?

I go into connections and change the Verizon #777 by adding two random numbers so it cannot connect and is easy to revert back.
Remember at a penny and a half a kilobyte it will add up VERY quickly. So quickly that if you use it for just a few websites a day it will add up to more then the $44/mo for the unlimited. WiFi at home and work and free McDonalds wifi with VZW I can pretty much avoid all data charges. Just don;t eat to many burgers :) I don;t believe MMS pics data counts aginst the data plan but I could be wrong so verify. |

You are correct. I've sent a bunch of pix messages this month and no charges. You can dial #3282 to find out your text message usage as well as your data usage. |
That was not always the case. Enough people pointed it out that pix/mms was recorded as kb usage so ppl were being billed for both. They fixed it like 6-8 months ago.

Wow that actually makes me glad I have Sprint. my data plan is like $15 /mo for unlimited data. buts its like 3cents for casual usage.
