need info on how to teather
 

i want to teather my ppc with my laptop. i got a new job and will be traveling alot and dont wanna worry bout not being able to get online from time to time. i have sprint service. i searched and what i found said go to the noob read first section and i did and clicked the link and it said no longer available. since the new boards it said cant no longer find.

On most 3.5 roms, do start/programs/"internet sharing"

Hit "connect" on bottom left

Connect phone to PC via USB...voila....an instant USB network is created and you're connected to the internet.

If you're not running a custom rom, you'll likely have to do the whole "phone as modem" thing, which is outlined in the manual. And, it's a PITA.

yeah i still have the stock rom hehe. so yeah the whole phone as a modem thing is the one for me.

the stock rom is no good. at bare minimum i'd install one of the user roms.

There is plenty of resources on this site for backing up contacts etc. if you're wanting to, prior to a new rom load. Or you can set up a live sync account at live.mail2web.com - which i would definitely recommend.

if you must stay stock, i believe you need to (from memory):
-install a piece of software off the CD that came with the phone
-start up tethering on phone
-setup phone software on pc to dial #777
-hook up phone
-dial
