This is just wrong WM6 on craigslist

Windows Mobile 6 Upgrade for xv6700 Verizon Sprint Altel - $29

http://atlanta.craigslist.org/ele/417045838.html

I found this today doing a search on google looking for MS OneNote Mobile. I did not know what is does and came across this craigslist add.

Wow thats just sooo wrong on every level. I don't use Craiglist but I hope Someone notifies them of that. Why are there always scumbags that do this crap ?

luv2chill 09-09-2007 10:47 AM

Thanks for posting this.

This is a theft, principally of the big works that have developed here in Pcgeek (in this case, Helmi's work). There does not exist any way of blocking to this type of people? This one enriching with the knowledge of our big developers.

blazingwolf 09-09-2007 11:19 AM

I just checked the link and it has been flagged for removal.

that sucks ...

no wonder the original post about WM6 seemed rather annoyed.

Been on a bit of a PPC hiatus for a bit, I check bach in and wow - WM6.

Still debating as to whether to give it a whirl - things have been so stable for me with the 1.0.4 kitchen.

...tom

pierocksmysocks 09-09-2007 06:04 PM

I didn't catch the original post, was the guy selling the rom, or was he selling his services to flash peoples phones with the rom?

luv2chill 09-09-2007 07:58 PM

Selling a CD with the ROM upgrade on it.

Krayziepop 09-09-2007 08:29 PM

I have been actively scanning a bunch of 'classified' based sites looking out for scammers since I read this post. Things look pretty clean out there so far (with the exception of said douchebag from CL)

unitypunk 09-09-2007 10:01 PM

OPEN TRADE FOR LIFE!

BURN MICROSOFT!

lol

pierocksmysocks 09-10-2007 02:24 AM

Nah I was just curious because I've had a few people offer to pay me to install it on their phone because they're not exactly computer savvy. (Mind you I didn't do it, mostly because it's kinda dodgy, plus it's still experimental at this stage and I don't want to foul things up for them.)

Krayziepop 09-10-2007 12:27 PM

Selling your services to install an OS/rom is not an issue at all, I wouldn't think. It's just seeing somebody profit from Helmi's long difficult labor is absolutely unacceptable. You are not selling his software as your own, which is the issue at hand here.

gatolsf 09-16-2007 02:59 AM

Here is another one...

The other guy was selling a CD with the WM6 upgrade on it. That is what we're trying to stop.
