Cant connect by USB anymore

I don't know what happened. Playing with the exchange server and following instructions on verizonwireless to setup MS DirectPush, I accidentally setup WirelessSync, which became annoying. I turned it off but after that I could never reconnect through usb anymore.
I tried in different PCs (desktops and notebooks) with no luck. I went through the ActiveSync troubleshooting and this is whay I get...

Unable to establish a connection between the PC and the device. Get up-to-date solutions to common connection problems. Please click the following link:

If you are still experiencing problems please send the results to Microsoft to help improve future versions.

I followed all instructions with no luck. Since I can't connect the device to a machine, I cannot run the add/remove programs. I would love to roll back the os to factory default and start over, I wouldn't mind, but, how do you do that?

I appreciate your help!

In active sync on the 6700 check menu/connections make sure that it is set to usb. Hope that helps.

Thanks for your comment!
It is set to sync with USB for all PCs. Though usb is written as `USB. I dont know if that ` is normal.
This is driving me crazy!

very odd, u can return to default state by pressing the two soft keys (-) and the soft reset button at the same time. this will bring up a screen that says clear, and u hit y for yes. hope this helps.

Thanks! That's what I needed. I don't know what caused it, but this was the only way to fix it. Now I need to sync everything again, but at least it can connect now.

Mine says "'USB" too. I think that's normal for whatever reason.

Make sure you shut off push before using the modem. Make sure also to turn off data service before using it. That should help.

if you go to the utstarcom site, you can download the latest activesync cab file for your phone. its supposed to update the phone's activesync software. I have it installed on to my device and i haven't encountered any problems yet.
